Are you more proud of your car or computer?

I'm sure there are lots of people who take much pride in their car and/or computer, based on their sigs with links to their rigs or car...and then there are those who don't care about either.

I'm a bit impartial to both of mine, as my computer is pretty pedestrian compared to most people's rigs here..with the exception of my dual monitor set up (one being a 2005FPW)..and my car is an '02 Explorer, which being in a college town ranks above the median when it comes to "status".. But it's essentially just a mode of transportation above all else.

Both are pretty mediocre... '99 Pontiac Grand Prix vs. Athlon XP 2500+/1 GB DDR333/Radeon 9800 Pro.

My car is a legit status symbol. My comptuer, while very good, doesn't impress many people.

The only reason I care about my computer is that I built it, and I did not build my car :)

I'm proud of both. I'm proud that I have a pretty sweet looking rig, but I'm also proud of just having a car of my own (infiniti i30 1997). I have friends who have DUI's and cant drive for quite a while, so I feel happy I'm not taking the bus like they are.

Neither one shows anything other than I can save enough money to buy stuff. I'm more proud of things I've actually accomplished with my own effort.

Car.

03 S2000 vs a Toshiba Laptop.

Only one of those I can take the top down and blast down PCH after work.

What he said.

I have a great car (LS 430) and a fast computer running XP64. I don't take pride in either one. I enjoy them, but it's not something to be proud of IMHO.

My computer has an ABIT IC7-G mobo, with a TT blower on the NB rather than the stock fan, 1GB of Corsair 2x512 LLPT memory, 3 harddrives with over 500GB in space, a X800XT video card, Audigy 2ZS audio card, and a Hauppauge TV tuner card.

My car has an engine, some lights, round thingies that make it roll, and doors to keep me from falling out.

Which do you think I'm more proud of?

Computer by far. I used to be proud of my car when I got it 5+ years ago, but after driving it into the ground and putting a couple dents in it, its nothing to be proud of.

Neither. I learned long ago to not invest a lot of pride in cars, they are just a convenient mode of transportation and a major leach on my finances.

i have some pride in my rig yes, i used my own money and i built it my self, so the fact its up there with the best has a few faults (which are mainly windows degrading over time) im rightfully proud to own it, and i enjoy showing people what it can do (if they ask)

same with my car, yeah its a girls car, yeah its small and has no PAS,aircon, abs, elec windows, sunroof, basically a boggo first edition Ford Ka. but that doesnt bother me, the car is so much fun to drive, not having PAS is real bonus, you can really feel what the cars doing and with it not having any electrical extras weighing it down its extremely nippy when you wanna go fast.

ive become attached to both it seems, and ill be sad when theyre gone. in a few years ill hopefully make my dad awfully proud of me as i pick up my degree in mechanincal engineering in 2009 :)

neither.

i wouldn't mind having a crazy gaming rig to be proud of. a car i could care less about.
