I would've fit right in with the Bourbon Democrats who dominated the Democratic Party before WJ Bryan, and it's a shame that Wilson permanently ruined the Party of Van Buren. The Party of Van Buren stood for hard money, low taxes/low spending, no regulations, private property, States' rights (civil liberties), and non-foreign interventionism. In contrast, the Hamiltonian Federalists (succeeded by the Henry Clay Whigs, and now the modern GOP) stood/stand for high taxes, imperialism, and for taking away civil liberties. They were/are pro-welfare, pro-business, pro-industry, anti-agrarian, pro-regulation, pro-empire building, pro-centralist, pro-national debt/anti-austerity, pro-public roads, pro-paper money, and anti-alcohol.
I was asking because some people would like parts of both of them and I was wondering what parts of each everyone liked. There is really nothing I like about the Federalists/Whigs/Republicans since they were and are composed mainly of fuckheaded fascists.
I think it's time to...
...RESTORE THE PARTY OF VAN BUREN BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!
