<< I'm not a jew, but I'm just curious about this since you have it up on the poll. All you people who are jewish, are you cheap or do you think it's just misinterpretation by other people. >>
Misinterpretation.... I can vouch for myself and many jewish friends... Were not cheap >>
Agreed. I'm the least cheap of any of my friends. I try to make plans and people b!tch about things being too expensive. The stereotype seems to come from the older generation of Jews. Their frugality is the result of immigration and starting from nothing in America. Especially those that came during the Great Depression or after/during WW2. When you're an immigrant that struggles with English, with few possessions and little money, you have to watch what you spend. Eventually it becomes habit. Plus, a large number want to conserve their money so their children can have it when they pass. The new generation seems to be less like this.
<< If you're a Jew, do you really control the US as some people say ? >>
If I told you, I would have to kill you. Just kidding. No, we're not - at least I haven't been informed...nor has anyone I know. I think that stereotype comes from having a proportionally higher part in the media and government. Only 2.5% of the US is Jewish yet 10 Senators (do the math, 10% of the Senate - 400% what it should be based on population) are Jewish and many movie companies are owned/run by Jews.
