Just used it for a couple of searches right now. Not impressed. I don't need the sorting and aggregate features, so I don't think I'll be using this engine ever.

i made my default firefox search engine bing. i'll use it for a couple of weeks and see if it is any better. some of you guys posting results from ONE search and making decisions. sheesh. "i owned a lexus and it broke down the first week, hence lexus is the worst car brand". type of logic.

iGoogle + Wolfram|Alpha gadget > *

If Bing proves to be useful: iGoogle + WA gadget + bing gadget > *

Been using Google for 10 years, which is about 8 years longer than I used any other search engine. It'll take a lot more to get me to switch from Google than it took to get me to switch to Google.

google mines data quite intensively, and has done so for a while... so no surprise there? why dont you use it in your day-to-day searches instead of searching something obscure like your ATOT handle :p

I searched bing for pictures of a certain type of tattoo (not gaming related whatsoever) and the top pics were Bjork and an xbox

Looks like they absorbed the Farecast website, too. Bastards! They could have at least kept the Farecast name.

I'll give it a try but I really like Google. I hope that they do something really good because searching hasn't really changed much in years and I'm looking forward to some innovation.

Well Google wasn't originally a verb. It's a noun that was bastardized into a verb.

Haven't used it much, but the interface bothers me a bit. Seems to me like they were trying too hard to give it that Web 2.0 feel. The reason I like Google so much is it's visual simplicity.

I was sorta excited about this until I tried it. I don't like that when I click on a tab on the left, the ENTIRE format mutates into something else.

It would be nice if I could click on the left and have it just organize, but not completely transform.

Yuck

Try searching for linux, the suggestions are really skewed and imo void this search engine of any real value.

As a search engine, i expect results to improve with time. I dont think Bing is near googleyet as far as searching, but some time down the line, it may become competitive or better, once the database builds up further. I might come back to this in a few months and see how it goes. As for this pre launch preview, its nice but meh, google still has more accurate results.

This Bing reminds me of Mozilla 1.0, a good effort, but not going to beat IE without some more work.

What are you twalking about? It seems fine. Linux.org is legit, the wiki page for linux is fine, ubuntu linux the the most popular consumer distro.... Its not like they point you to microsoft.com.

If anything, its skewed towards the average user and not the enthusiast. It seems to skew search results toward introductory information on the subject you search for.
