are you honest when telling someone what you think about them?

When someone asks for your honest opinion on them, do you sugar coat it and leave the nasty bits about them out, or are you one of those wonderfully honest people and let it rip? :)

i sugar-coat, though i'm working on it :p

edit: i sugar coat with people in person, because i don't like getting into conflicts. if i talk to you online, and you ask my opinion, you can be sure you'll get an honest one :p

I try to be honest, and usually I am. Sometimes I do sugar-coat however.

if its a person that i know and am familiar with, i let my thoughts rip... but if it is someone that i just met, or a complete stranger, then i suger coat it all to hell :)

I just rate them a 1 and tell them I gave them a 10. Gets em every time.

LOL@perry, its for people like that that I turn off my rating.

In terms of honest oppinions I usually give whatever will help the person.. so I use my judgement for that.

I try to be honest without hurting people's feelings too much. Unless the piss me off. Then I try to make them cry.

i think it would be better to tell them what you really think. but of course those not so nice things could be said in a more tactful manner. that makes it easier for him or her to realise the fault in him or her and not be insulted instead.

Honesty is the key to any good relationship (with all people) - I try to be as honest as possible but sugar coated slightly so as to not be "brutal"
