Are you happy working where you do, with the people you work with?

I am just a server/bartender which is a pretty sh!tty job in and of itself, but I will say though that I work with some great people and I can't really think of a single person whom I work with that is not good friends with everyone else in the restaurant.

I would say we all (and I mean EVERYONE, managers excluded because they can't although they would if they could and they used to before they moved up from server or whatever to manager) go out drinking at least maybe twice a week. Everyone jokes around and I dunno, it's just a great place to work. Much more so than my last job.

I can't imagine working in the jobs some of you guys talk about, where if you look at someone funny they yell harassment and go get you fired. I don't have to tip toe around anything up at work and to be honest it creates a much better work environment. Case in point today was MLK day and so much was said that would have got people fired at most jobs, but we just laugh about it. We have the front of the house (servers, hostesses, bartenders, etc) and the back of the house (cooks, backup, dishguys, etc) and we were all sitting around smoking before we opened today and started talking about the "black of the house" and all kinda stuff and they laugh it off and say something about us etc.

It almost makes me not want to find a better job where I have to work in some kind of completely sterile environment where no one goes out and drinks with each other and has any fun.

not so much this year
too many chefs in the kitchen (too many project managers, not enough worker bees)

I like what I do, I like where I work, and I like the people I work with. And... We're hiring. Check the Networking Support thread stickied at the top of this forum.

I work at Offutt AFB in the summer and I the co-workers I work with are great 😀 Its always fun in the office I'm in, very laid back and enjoyable. But we do get our work done, we don't screw around.

Yeah, the job i'm at is great. I game about 30 hours a week, and ALL of it is at work. Every few weeks, i go over to my bosses house for beer, pizza, and cards. And everybody in the company is just great.

My pay could be so much better, and i know i can get better, but i don't know if i'm ever going to find a job i'm this comfortable in. Money isn't everything, and for the past couple of years, it hasn't been, which is why i'm still here. But i know i can make 50% more out there. I actually just sent in my resume for another job 30mins ago.

Amen....you can say that for me 1000 times...especially 2005.

I really do enjoy my job and direct co-workers, but the corporate people running the projects are driving me fvcking nuts!

I am happy where I am, could use a bit more money however, I get along well with everyone and my boss dont look over my shoulder.

I used to love my job at Kmart. Lately, (especially after i've been given my termination notice), I dread every day of punching in and count down the minutes until the end of my shift.
