I was wondering if everyone is happy with the job/occupation/career that they have now. Some people are very content with their position and yet others are not happy at all. Some love their work and others hate it. What is your take on it?

I currently am still in school...so I was just wondering if anyone of you individuals out there ended up wishing they had majored in another field and am not happy with their current majors. Are there any of you that just wish that you had chosen another career path instead of the one you ended up choosing. I know it happens to some people...but how many of you are like this?

Hmmm - I'm quite happy in my current state - I can honestly say that I am. Even though I work really hard and am under constant stress and pressure, I find my line of 'work' awfully rewarding.

I don't have an occupation. I'm a student, however, I consider that a form of an investment which in turn can be considered a line of work. I'm studying in order to advance my future, just as people work hard in order to get a raise. I can say that I am happy because I am able to study at one of the finer institutions in this fine nation - w/ an excellent top ten business program within my field :)

That's not the only rewarding part in my "occupation" - I'm also the currently yeilder of Beta Kappa, and the APA club organizations at USC - that is to say that I am holding key positions that would work towards my advancements in the later years... perhaps become a key leader which would thus lead me to possible opportunities for internships that would advance my career :)

I definitely enjoy my 'job' - and besides, the dividends are awesome - can you believe that I actually get chicks doing the things that I do ? ;)

personally i'm not sure if majoring in computer science will turn out right for me. i mean i like programming... sometimes. its interestingn sometimes. but i'venever had to do it like 10 hours a day week in week out so i dont know. i wouldn't really be that happy with my future if i went to USC though like above. j/k. i'm thinking maybe my compsci degree will be useful in some job field that allows me to have contact with people who aren't all greasy software engineers. ah what a dream

I like what i do (Apprentice Electrician)...good pay too, eventually. I've gone up ~$3/hr in the last year, and in the next 4 years, it will more than double. No im not in it for the money, its good work, learn new stuff constantly, good trade to get into.

No, I'm not thrilled with where my worklife is at, I have a university degree, and a crappy job.
I should have a career.
I probably would take something different today, but it's really my not applying myself to anything that is the problem not my degree choice:disgust:

not working for another 7 months after I graduate...but at my dad's place...I was like a "utility person". I worked in any dept that was shorthanded...I didn't really like working in Internal Audit...too many numbers and I had to use Excel on a REALLY old 14 or 15" monitor at resolution of 800x600. The spreadsheets I was composing were like (I mean not that big but...) 300 down and AA across.

Well I'll say that despite having a degree from a Big Ten school, and three years of IT experience, I ended up with a crappy job that is grating and boring but that i'm losing soon anyway. On the other hand, however, the actual work is easy enough, so i may look for something in this field come November. Honestly, I've noticed that you may hate your job, it may suck beyond anything that has sucked before, it may demean you, insult your intelligence and be completely different than your learned skillset, yet if there are good people around you that can all be overlooked.

Also, i've notice that no matter how crappy a job is, it's less crappy than having to look for a new one.

The career path I am current in that I'm happy with. It is the lousy job that I hate.
