I never buy a new game without a demo first, no matter how good AT members or my friends say it is.

WTF?

The post before it was mentioning Independence Day. Independence Day starred Will Smith. Will Smith also starred in a show called The Fresh Prine of Bel-Air. Get it now?

If it comes in full ugly DRM annoyingness, I'll just wait a few weeks. Once the DRM is stripped off, I'll just use that ;)

Highly questionable.

It's really making me think it's going to be a cross between "Impossible Creatures" (super dud) and "Sim Earth" (so-so). I don't know if the marriage of these two have the capacity to spawn a great game.

Throw DRM on top of it, and it's quite likely I'll pass on this one. DRM's been enough to keep me from both Bioshock and Crysis.

Spore has a lot to overcome to gain my support right now.

My daughter will probably be a lot more interested in this than me, but then she's into all the SIMs series too.

I'm going to get it after some reviews come out and see what sort of faults it has and if it's anything that needs to be fixed before I get it. I'll also download the creature creator whenever they release it just to get a feel for part of the game and base part of my buying decision on that.

damn straight! no time to waste on new games, you wouldn't want to spoil the repetitiveness of CS 1.6 for the past 8 years :p

I'm not going to admit that the game is awesome until I play a demo

Honestly i think it's going to be mediocre, they're going for too much to make any of it great. Definitely waiting on reviews at the least.

Normally I would agree, but look at how long they are taking to release it. Doesn't EA usually push it out as soon as possible to starting making cash? I'm sure Will Wright has to do with it. He is making sure it is done right and that there wont be any major issues.

By your logic, Duke Nukem Forever is going to be the single greatest thing mankind has ever created.

Nobody knows how far the evolution will go. Seems real repetitive after a while and gets boring real fast if that is true. Will it be an iPhone exclusive game?

Hell yes. With the state of gaming today, I'm all for giving anything a shot that looks like it might have a shred of a new idea involved somewhere in it.....whoever the producer might be.

Oh, I definitely agree. I should rephrase that as it is a POTENTIALLY awesome game. From the demonstrations I've seen, it appeals to me thus far. A demo would be nice, but at the very least I'll wait to buy it until some credible reviews come out.

Will Wright's clout comes from the Sims. Without it, imagine where EA's bottom line would stand.

Game has awesome potential but I'm going to wait on some reviews first before buying. Some of the latest previews that I've read seems like the game is starting to shape itself towards mass appeal and becoming a bit simplistic. I prefere games to have a little depth to them, but then again I guess I'm a little more of a "hardcore" gamer than the average person.

Well avoiding the EA label can be difficult sometimes. However i refuse to pay for their butchering of the games industry any further.

I will obtain spore through alternative means without giving EA a penny. I would mail will wright the cash personally if i could. Fuck EA.

I don't know if you can get away with pirating the game. Part of the whole thing is the interconnectedness of other user created species and objects in the global web of players. I'd imagine you'd need a unique key/registration for this to work properly.

If Lithan is anything like me, he got the reference, but just thought it was a dumb post.
