So I have a new job which involves lots of standing on hard concrete. My feet and knees start to get very sore very quickly. I'm thinking about trying some of those Gel inserts I keep seeing commercials for on TV.

Does anyone use them and what do you think of them? Do they work well? Do they give you less foot pain? Any other recommendations? I already wear running or walking shoes instead of dress shoes but am looking for more padding I guess.

Thanks.

See if they'll let you put down a cushioned mat as well...that can do wonders.

Haven't used those exact ones, but similar types. The do really make standing for long periods much easier, but if you are relying on them be prepared to buy in bulk cause they can wear quickly.

I travel to various sites doing repair work on big, commercial printers. Some sites have them and some don't. I've started standing on cardboard boxes (broken down of course) at sites that don't because it at least adds a bit of padding. But my heels get sore often even on normal flooring so this new job is hurting more than usual.

I have those Adidas Bounce-something Shoes. It's like standing on air. But they are a bit plasticky, so less sweat absorption.
