Are you for or against the legalization of marijuana?

I'm doing a paper on marijuana, I need opinions. Are you for or against the legalization of marijuana? Why? Give me one reason that backs up your choice. This is nothing personal just a paper for Coll Class. Thanks.

i dont care if other people smoke doobies, shoot up, or stick plungers up their ass

legalize it all, they are gonna do it anways as well

I would have it legalized, as it is FAR HEALTHIER then pretty much ANY other drug(tobbacco and alcohol are a thousand times worse then MJ). The USA would be a FAR better place to live if all alcohol and ciggy users used marie jane instead.

This will probably get locked, but I'm interested in the poll results. Hope it doens't get locked.

You might want to consider a more original subject for your paper.

Its a Social Issues Paper, I thought this was fitting.

I can assure you this particular topic has been done to death.

Nearly every class I have taken where this subject could be used specifically ruled it out due to the number of very similar papers that end up being submitted.

The professors are tired of reading about it.

For legalization.

-It doesn't have big health problems associated with it (for the amount most people consume)
-It helps the appetite of sick people with things like AIDS and cancer
-It is not a gateway drug
-There are no addictive properties
-Legalizing it would drop crime rates because it would be much more affordable and no place for drug lords. People wouldn't steal, rob, whatever for drug money when they can afford it easy.
-The tax money made off it could pay down the deficit (whichever country you are in)
-Lastly, why should someone else be able to stick their d!ck into my entertainment?

The question is why NOT legalize it?

Are you for or against another pointless marijuana debate thread that will degrade into 50+ pages of flaming between the people who have a clue and the people who believe that Reefer Madness was a realistic portrayal of marijuana users?

Would you please do me the honor of giving me a few examples of topics you think they might find to be a intresting read?

"Social Issues" covers a rather wide area. You have nearly limitless choices.

Immigration
Poverty
Aging population
Gay rights
Government censorship
Education
....

The list goes on and on.
