Are You Fat? Go to JAIL!

There is a difference between jail and "a specialist eating disorder unit at the Eastbourne Clinic where he will be assessed for up to 28 days".

I don't necessarilly agree with the authorities here, but I do disagree with the OP claiming that it is jail.

Article didn't say how many social workers and police it took to drag him away. I say at least 8 people combined.

The "illness" that he has makes it so he can't tell when he's full.....I just don't buy that at all. Even if you don't feel full, after the 37th hard boiled egg, you should know it's time to stop fvcking eating.

He's 23 and weighs 31stone, not sure what that translates to in kilograms or pounds.

Edit: curse you dullard

that is sad.... really sad. he shouldn't have agreed to appear on that documentary; it just caused trouble for him. 🙁

There is a difference between being overweight and having a severe disorder. This guy obviously crossed that line.

I find the mother to be extremely absurd... "I had stopped giving him money for food. For the first time in years we were getting somewhere. We had locked food cupboards, that was a big step."

Bullsh!t. The "kid" is 23 years old. Not only did she fail to do anything for the first 18 years of his life, when she was actually responsible, but she failed to raise a child that can care for himself. This is just pathetic parenting.

Nice to see some nanny-state advocates replying in this thread. It's none of your damn business why he can't stop eating. It's up to him and his family.

So the mom waited until he got to be half a ton and was about to be taken from her before she started locking the pantry...

I vote her Mom of the year!
