Maybe this is some sort of early 20's life crisis, but I'll be graduating with my BS in Accounting this winter, then I'll get my CPA a couple years afterwards while working full time. And then it's crunching numbers for the next 40 years of my life.

What I really want to do is kick this internship, career, school, everything aside, and just train to be a pro bodybuilder in 5-10 years. I just don't see it happening though. Not with a career down the road. That's my dream life, to work out and get paid for it.

Anyways, just a random thought.

I'm a software developer and love doing what I'm doing. Have no idea how people who hate what they're doing go on living.

Not even close.

But I don't know what I'd want to do that I love, isn't fixing computers though.

i never finished college but i hate what i am doing now, i would rather be a waitress full time. :( but, it pays the bills.
I spend a lot of my life wondering why and how i am not happy and how i can make myself happy with what i do each day

I'm doing what I thought I would love to do. Now, I'm not so sure. The work can be tedious and boring - the job security sucks (although its pretty secure where I am now - but its a very very rare situation) and for just another couple of years in school I could have been a lawyer or doctor......

I'm writing a book about careers, I will post when it's done. Another couple weeks then off to the printers. Basically it addresses that question - getting a job that you would really enjoy. Stay tuned :)

I don't love it and I don't hate it. I hate working though. I can't think of what I would love though. How could you love something you have to do?

You're not the only one. Every day I dream about dropping out of school, moving to hawaii (or somewhere in mexico or the carribean) and become a scuba instructor/Surf bum. EVERY DAY.

I'm 6 1/2 yrs out of college with my accounting degree and working as a manager at a firm. Spent 5yrs in the Big 4 building my resume.

While its an OK job, I enjoy the pay more than anything.

I'd rather own a bar/saloon/tavern with an attached eatery and run that in some tiny hick town of 2,000 people.

I'd rather be working as a brewmaster.

I'd rather be working as a dolphin trainer at Sea World in San Diego.

I went to school for Computer Science which I loved... ever since I got my first computer in fifth grade I wanted to be a computer programmer. So I've been looking for software development jobs. I should be hearing back from one very soon. *crosses fingers*

I'm about to get a degree in CS. Do I love it? No, will I love the paycheck? Hell yes. What I want to do is be a champion Muay Thai fighter/porn star but unfortunately earning enough money to survive is important too.

if you are having doubts now, trust your instinct...if you are the kind of person that can remit your job as nothing more than a paycheck and sustenance, then go for it....lead your life outside of the office and declare yourself in other ways... many define themselves by their career and find that a canundrum appears around 40 or so and all hell breaks loose....unfortunately, I am in that area right now...i am really getting burned out on IT....bleh..i do other things, but sometimes...you wake up...and say, GOD GIVE ME THE STRENGTH for another day....

i really like tax. i knew that it was the field that i wanted to be in as soon as i got to college. currently, my job is really starting to get to me. my current employer is sucking the life out of me, similar to christopher reeve sucking stem cells from a fetus. i'm wondering when they are going to toss the used husk.

Nope. :(

I wanted to be a doctor, and I had a lot of things going for me, but situations made me rethink this in high school and I regret that now.
But I plan on going back. :) So no worries.
