With todays news that Gatorade dropped the golfer from its product line I think more and more companies are going to say ta-tah as well. Have you stopped buying any product endorsed by the notorious philanderer? Or do you think Woods still projects a wholesome image that adds to the reputation of family oriented products, so it really doesnt matter to you?

Because having someone endorsing it makes it worse?
Really... if it was good before it will still be good.. Its stupid to get something based solely on some paid "celebrity" endorsement.

Nope. While I do hate cheaters, I really couldn't care less what someone does in their personal life, I find the fact it is dominating the news to be pretty stupid actually.

In all honesty I almost never pay attention to who endorses what (Tiger endorses a car of some sort and probably a golf ball, I don't know).

So Gatorade was family-oriented? But now it's pro-adultery? I had no idea I was supporting the nuclear family every time I cracked open a bottle of Fierce Blue.

I was going to go out and buy the same condom brand he used, but apparently he didn't use any.

I typically try to avoid any product pushed by pro athletes. Especially when they make 5 X the money from advertisements than they make from playing their sport.

I mean people making air jordans in vietnam make $1.50 a day. They pop out probably $3000 worth of Air Jordans per day. Michael Jordan does not need any of my money.

I didn't buy anything based on his endorsements and I'm not going to change now. I don't give a damn what he does in his personal life.

Of all the people that say it doesnt matter, perhaps you should carefully reconsider. It is up to us as consumers to be outraged at such disgusting behavior. If not, we are sending the message that it is ok for big name endorsers to do as they please and not watch their p's & q's. Dont drop the ball people!

I'd say "This", but in reality, probably a majority of major celebrities of his stature are philanderers.

I didn't know he had any other endorsements than Nike. I mean, I assumed he did, but I haven't seen any others.

Gatorade didn't drop Tiger because they don't want him making money, you know...

DrPizza,

Because our collective moral expectations have fallen to such an all time low, some now expect such dishonor among our highly paid athletes. I lay this at the feet of all low class comedians and our "anything goes" society. :(

I hope he loses all his sponsors and never wins another golf tournament ever again.

There may be a road to redemption, but it should be long and hard. I dont want this to be swept under the rug. He can regain his reputation by keeping it in his pants and flying right!

Don't be so down on yourself. Look at it this way: our collective morality is merely shifting to accomodate society's needs. Pretty soon we're going to be having sex with whatever we want and it'll be okay. Just hang in there, and keep an open mind.

You are correct. They dropped him because he reflected poorly upon Gatorade.

Bravo!

Okay, then how does it make it not okay for us to spend money on products Tiger endorses? The vast majority of people who consume those products don't do so just because Tiger endorses it. Especially when it comes to something like Gatorade.
