I'm tough enough to walk away and not care what people think. ;) I'll fight to defend myself or my loved ones but in general fighting never solves anything.

Meh.. All you need for a fight is knowing your better than them. Not even physically. And fear, fear helps. Someone had this in his sig, and I think it's 100% correct:
If you have to protect someone, think:"I won't let them die."
If you have to defend, think:"I won't let them cut me."
If you have to fight, think:"I'll cut them."

It was something like that.. All you need is anger and the will to win.

What is it with fight threads here? Been in probably close to 500 fights growing up (didn't have much choice), took 2 forms of martial arts, even boxed for a bit in college. Haven't been in a single fight as an adult, much prouder of the later than the former. I'm probably one of the greatest pacifist in the world now. I have no problem if someone wants to bring into question my heritage or sexual preference (whatever). I don't drink anymore, which helps to avoid a lot of it. I made a commitment at one point I'd take a beating before hurting someone else, that's strong motivation to avoid fights (and most fights are avoidable). Pride is a full set of teeth.

yeap.

Its just not worth the hassle. 90% of the time you can talk your way out of it.

being kinda small (5'5 ) i was always picked on in high school. With bullies you do have to stand up to them. but almost all will back down if you stand up for yourself. the few that didn't i woiuld have to fight.

while i lost most fights big guys don't want to even have a close one with someone a hell of a lot smaller then them.

Long ago I was at a night club with my friend. We were patying pretty heavy. Well I guess my friend wanted to impress his new friends that he met so he told them that I was in karate, I was. At the time I just won a gold metal in fighting. So I head to the john and go into a stall, this guy jumps down and started pushing me around. Needless to say I kicked the crap out of him then headed to the dance floor where I dragged my friend off the floor. I told him never to tell anyone what I did or it was his ass next...He never did after that night....Oh I picked up 2 chicks that night to and ended up at their place LMAO

Got any good stories about your past fights?
what happened at the soccer match that made you almost get into a fight?

I avoid fights for 3 reasons. 1. they are pointless 2. I might hurt some one badly. 3. I might get hurt badly.

Fighting is something to be avoided past the age of 10.

Never been in a real fight, Ive always been bigger than most people in my classes, and ive had a few kids jump me a few times, but it was never a real fight, just toss them against the wall, etc...

Never punched anyone, kinda sad I missed out on that before I turned 18.

Wanna learn how stupid fighting is?

Work security in a bar.

I do just that for a friend of mine on the weekends.

Ever since I was a child I have hated violence and bullies. The only thing that has ever made me want to hurt anyone else is them hurting me or another innocent person. And trust me, I have lived with violence in my life since I was quite young. I have never been violent if I can walk away... unless someone else is being hurt.

It started with bullies in elementary school. Escalated to gangs in an inner city school I was bussed to in junior high. The violence in my life turned deadly with robberies at my business. Over and over I have been forced into doing violence against my will and nothing makes me angrier than that.

I have no glory stories. No fight is glorious. There are no winners. Only sadness and pain. All I can say is I would love nothing more than to live a passive life free of violence, and I have repeatedly been denied that by assholes with something to prove, and junkies with nothing to lose.

Simply put: If you fight, you lose. I don't care who is left standing or who is hurt more or less... violence makes losers of us all.
