Are You Any Good At Sudoku?

I just got my best time ever on puzzle #2,612,101,056 (easy) at www.websudoku.com

My time was 3:34

I am wondering if this is like Rubik's cube where some small portion of the population can solve it in no time all...

I cant vision how to start these. Never tried before though.

Oh man, the first few times are rough. Once you get the hang of it, you can solve them in 6 or 7 minutes pretty regularly. You have to do a bunch to get down below 5 minutes unless it is a particularly easy one.

7:41

the one in the newspaper was really easy, they usually take me anywhere from 13-20 minutes and today it was done in 8 minutes

I did that one in 5:02 (without touching the How am I doing? sh!t).

Sudoku is fun. I play it occasionally on my PSP.

while some of it is skill....a LOT of solving these puzzles is a matter of seeing the right thing at the right time. THere are so many numbers and possibilities, you could go through 99/100 until you find that ONE to unlock the rest. There is really not much skill involved other than knowing the stratigies to "unlock" numbers

By that logic, I could read a few books and play grandmaster level chess.

Dayum. Sometimes, you just see the answers... Other times, not so much...

I got 3:03 the other night. wasn't really trying to get beat my previous best, just trying to lower my average to under 5 minutes with over 100 games played.

Are you guys using the "how am i doing" button? I used it and it took me 15 minutes to finish my first one.

It kinda feels like cheating though.

Not gonna try it...I get sucked into these things and I can't safely tuck away a few minutes at work to do this uninterrupted.

"Congratulations! You solved the Sudoku in 41 minutes, 52 seconds!" In my defense, I was watching TV and this was my first one ever...
