I am not one yet but thinking about signing up for one. But this dilemma always stops me.

Yes, I would like to save someone's life when I am dieing. But if I could be saved and they did not save me b/c they could harvest me, then I would hate that.

who knows...any advice. btw, i am only 24 right now (and I dont drink or smoke 🙂 )

A pair of lungs = 1 life
Liver = 1 Life
Heart = 1 Life
2 Kidneys = 2 Lifes
A pair of life = Can give vision to 2 people (1 eye ea pls)
What else am i missing ?? Legs, hands ??

EDIT: What about Bone marrow ? Blood ? Can they use that also ??


Also, you can donate your body to the Medical Schools for further research etc etc.

So you can save 5 lifes and improve 2 additional lifes and maybe the remaining part of your body can be used to improve the life of future generations.

hell, you could make the case that you can get 2 lives for the lungs.

Actually, the numbers are much higher on the number of lives you can save (certain organs can be split up, like a liver can be made into multiple pieces and function in all of them)

Also, I have huge doubts on the whole "they won't try" bit. If you have a DNR, they won't try, but if they can save you, they will.
