Yes I'm scared of the future, I have to start grad school next fall.

No, I'm not afraid of terrorist attacks. Not to minimalize the sept 11 attacks, however given there are nearly 300 million people in this country, the chance of getting killed by a terrorist is minute. You probably have a greater chance of plowing your car into a river or something.
 
I am more scared than I was on September 10th. And I get even more scared when I read about or hear people in this country criticizing our war effort because it makes me feel that my safety and security is being compromised.

America is already a troubled country, but we've always had issues, we'll be around for a while.

Very true. People just have to open their eyes and see what they can do about the issues.
 
Vespasian, why am I a jack ass? Is it because you don't like to face the facts? Let's look at some of the facts:

1) Social Security- When it's our time to retire Social Security will be non-existent!! I know that we should not rely on SS, but we all put into this damn program. I'll have a 401 k plan just like the majority of people here, but it bothers the hell out of me that SS is going to be depleted in 40-50 years!!!

2) Medical Coverage- How many people in America have Medical coverage? Ask the majority of illegal immigrants if they have any medical coverage. Who pays the bill's if they have a baby, get injured in an accident or if they get a disease? They don't!!! We all pay for them, because they don't have the resources!!!

3) Juvinelle Crime- Teenage crime is expected to double in 10 years. And in fact, we are starting to see this. Just last week, we had a 16 yr. old go on a shooting spree that left 6 dead. He's only 16!!!! This would never have happened 20 years ago.

4) Nobody want's to take responsibility anymore- A perfect example is the lady that's suing Nintendo because her 31 year old (loser) son died while playing video games for 8-10 hours a day, 6 days a week!!! Everyone want's to blame someone else!!!! "it's not my fault." Of course it isn't :disgust:

Here are some other quick examples:

5) kids having kids
6) homosexual sex
7) education system in America SUCKS
8) Major racial problems
9) The growing gap between the have and the have-nots
10) bad parenting
11) greed (look at Enron as an example)

This is just some of my examples of why I believe America will fall just like Rome did many years ago!!

I know that I might sound Anti-American and I AM NOT ANTI_AMERICAN!!!, but you can't tell me that we have some major issues at hand. And if we don't do something about it, then America will be hurting in the near future!!!


 
Focus on the love you have in your real life and you won't be afraid.

Be the most loving, stable, strong person you can be in your real life and you'll have no regrets, even if you die in a freak accident on your way to work tomorrow.

Let go of fear, anger, and the need to control and accept that you are only a blip on the screen.

In each moment you have, strive to to learn and become a more compassionate person.

That's my mantra.
