Anybody here one of those worthless managers that just attend meetings and do no real productive work but somehow gets promoted over and over again?

If you are, Ready thinks you're really reallly cool. Worthless but cool!

I'm halfway there. I still do some actual work, but my meeting numbers have been going up.

There are things as productive meetings where policy is set and while there is no actual work being done there needs to be procedure to get anythning done.

AQ great plan with good effort in execution will alway beat a BAD plan with GREAT EFFORT in execution.

I bet all the crappy managers are named Dave. Every manager named Dave I've ever met was a loser.

uugghh, i hate the managers at my work. we had one manager that actually did work expected of a good manager, and he got transferred to another city because they needed his help... and as expected, his replacement ended up being a real dick.

they somehow managed to "promote" me and pay me 23% less than they did before :S

edit: it's obviously needless to say that my productivity has plummeted exponentially ever since :D

I had 5 internal meetings and 1 client meeting today.

Despite that, I was able to pump out a 11-page data spec for our Development Team and train a team for a new project. I don't think I'm a worthless manager, but I don't work for myself either. :D

Managers who network more statistically are more successful (being promoted) than their more productive counterparts who do not network as much.
