I have grocery bills dating to the 80s and all the departmental memos about weekly meetings even though I quit teaching full-time half a decade ago. I just moved from a large two-bedroom appartment to another one that is about 2/3 it's size. I will have to throw away stuff and that breaks my heart. Yesterday I gave 8 metal chairs to a hostel for the homeless, which means I only have 7 chairs and a sofa left.

I threw away 3 boxes of unsorted seashells that I had bought for teaching purposes 5 years ago. I'm going to throw away my first-year university notes from 1976, totally useless stuff that I held unto for sentimental reasons. Maybe I'll throw away the 2nd-year notes too. I gave away 3 boxes of adult magazines which I hadn't read since the late seventies, some with unread articles. Ack!!!
