I was/am a TKE... honestly (almost) every other chapter of TKE that I ran into were a bunch of losers.

I'm not saying we were the greatest frat, but we had a really good reputation on my campus (binghamton university) while I was there.

"Can't go Greek go TKE, can't go TKE go home"... I'd say out of the 15 chapters (outside of my own), 13 of them rang that quote true

How can you dis your brothers? There is a deragatory statement for all. I've heard the "POP! Pie Caps are fairys song" , "ZTA - Zits Tits & Ass" etc...
All schools are different. I also have found that TKE's are more popular on the west coast, but it doesn't matter where you go.

:| And, Don't call your fraternity a "frat"....you wouldn't call your country a "c*unt"

I totally agree, but, then again, as a San Francisco native, I do get pretty worked up by people using that six-letter F-word when referring to my home town. It's like fingernails on a chalkboard to me.

if you're looking for friends the easy way or want to have the rules and regulations of a high school, then you should do it!

Haven't you people ever joined a club or any kind of organized group in your lives? Cub Scouts? Little League? Chess Club? D&D Club? I never got why independents always say that joining a frat is a way to buy friends. Is that how you look at every club or group?

Exactly, or its like going to a LAN party and chipping in 5 bucks for pizza and beverages. or even paying a cover charge to get into a night club. You pay for the experience. It's just hard to explain to those whos social life is considered being online.

I agree with you up to this point. The rest was a little too troll-like ;)

Hear that "whooshing" sound? That's the sound of my point going straight over your wee widdle head.

Are you really that fvcking dense? *Psst - here's a bit of a secret - you're on the internet RIGHT NOW! ZOMG!*

Oh dear lord. You really are a stuck up douchebag troll, aren't you? You really like keeping to your ways, don't you? You should change your name to "trollslinger."

Let me explain it to you. Insulting people on the internet, and going out of one's way to ridicule an idea or a person is commonplace on the internet. This doesn't necessarily correlate to real life. People love to vent and insult people on the net, some even take it as a sport. Most of the time this does not carry over into their real life, since they see the net of a place to vent and act out of character. Seems pretty simple to me.

And yeah, I got the point.

Did you have to jump up and down while shouting "Pick me! Pick Me!" with money in hand? Or was your pop also a member of Phi Alpha Gamma? Thus making you an "ez-in" regardless of your "bank roll."

Or Alpha Sigma Sigma? Or Delta Iota Kappa?

BTW, prejudice is no better than ignorance.

Did you have to jump up and down while shouting "Pick me! Pick Me!" with money in hand?

The rushees do as much picking as the chapters. Or, to put it in another way, sometimes it is the chapter jumping up and down while shouting "Pick me! Pick Me!" It is a two way street.

Or was your pop also a member of Phi Alpha Gamma? Thus making you an "ez-in" regardless of your "bank roll."

"Your "points" really highlight your ignorance." Did you learn about legacies from Animal House?

Why do people who were never in a fraterinty think that they know so much about fraternities by just watching a movie and seeing the parties?

Apparently, not unless you had to pay to get in (so that you could have friends), had to beg to be included (because it is elitist), and got drunk all the time (because that is all frat boys do).

Me and my best friend were both Sigma Pi's, he is currently serving our country. Made a couple good friends out of the experience but it is not for everyone. The money issue is not that big of a deal when you figure out how much you spend a semester getting drunk.

Beta Theta Pi here.

Best money I ever spent. I joined my 3rd year of college so I already had plenty of friends but wanted something new. I also had the connections to get the job I have today because of my frat.

OP, don't worry about the idiots pulling out the old 'buy your friends' type cliches. Who cares.

TEKE's raise Hell!

I was really good friends with all the TKEs at GMU... some of em are still really good friends. They tried to talk me into signing up several times, but I ended up founding a chapter of AEPi instead... which was great... I had all the benefits of a frat... parties, sorority girls, pledges to do my laundry.... all without ever having to put up with any hazing of any kind.
