Are you self conscious about the brands of clothing that you wear?

I not very much.

I would wear almost any brand of clothing as long as it looked cool.
However, there are some brands that I'd actually feel uncomfortable in..
Those that are usually worn with some bold announcement on them of the label
(Abercrombie & Fitch, Gucci, DKNY, etc..) Some of those brands make very cool clothes
but if I'm wearing them, I prefer them to be inconspicuous.

If I'm going to wear something that does have a bold label like a T-shirt, it's usually an undergound
clothing label like a skateboard company or something..

I go for comfort and decent looks. A good price helps too. I try to stay away from big brand logos on articles of clothing too. However, I had to get a BR bag which was perfect, though it did have their name on it.

I wear what I think looks good. Is it my fault that stuff is usual a major label?

I've changed alot since coming to college. In HS I kept up with everyone else in the matters of style and clothing, always sporting the name brands and stuff that I really coudn't afford. I seldom saw anyone who didn't, though, and I didn't want to be one of the nerdy kids that shopped at Wal-Mart. People in college seem much more relaxed and I feel comfortable going to class in some dirty khacki shorts and a white Hanes tshirt. I still buy most of my clothes at the stores in the mall, but I think I've gotten to the point that I don't really care what I wear.

I hate clothing that expose their label brand like we are walking billboards, like Tommy.
I like some of their polo shirt but the stupid label in front ruin the look for me.
But then again, most of my polo shirt now are from Lacoste.
They are so smooth and comfy, but they are expensive as hell.
Even at outlet, still cost arm and leg. Way above my $20 or less limit on any type of clothing.
But some High Sierra brand polo shirt at Mervyn's are comfy too.
For me, comfy and soft are more important than label.

I agree. I love the fact that being accepted in college has nothing to do with your appearance. For the most part its actually based on what you're about and what you believe etc.

Basically all I wear are t-shirts...and they're all basically just letters. Pretty much all I wear is letters.

most of my non-Hanes 6 pack white shirts are branded heavily, and my shoes I pay attention to brand. pants, underwear, socks and the rest I don't care about.

I tend to wear Eddie Bauer type stuff, not because of label, but because of look and fit. Of course, this time next month I'll be sporting the trendy and very high quality US Army label..

I only buy name brands... but i absolutely hate clothes that advertise the brand. If it's small like the Ralph Lauren Polo guy, then it's ok... but if it's like my CK sweater with a huge CK on the back, then that's ridiculous. I really like Hilfiger clothing too, but too bad so much of it has their logo.

BTW: It has nothing to do with the name... but just that namebrand clothes are usually better, both in quality and fit. Even something as simple as a white undershirt, i can definitely tell the difference between a Hanes and CK. My Hanes underwear don't normally last longer than 6 months... but i've had CK underwear that's 3+ years old and still great.
