Are yellow foglights legal in the US?

I'm thinking of replacing the whiteish ones in my car with new ones since one of the bulbs just went.

Just wondering if they are legal, in particular NJ.

Some Lexii factory foglights are yellow so I would assume so.

Yellow fog lights are legal, but your main driving lights must be white IIRC. This means that to have yellow fog lights, they must be accompanied by your low-beam white headlights. You're not allowed to drive with only the yellow lights on.

yellow is the color of a true fog light. White causes the water particles in fog to glow. Yellow does not do this. Therefore, it is a much better choice for driving in a fog.

They're legal up here in Canada. In fact you can drive around all day with them on.

Yellow is legal here for accessor/driving/fog lighting purposes. Yellow is NOT legal for your main headlights, as someone already mentioned. If you go to France, you will see what yellow headlights are. They look pretty crappy IMHO--I guess I prefer Xenon or as true-white as you can get.

I remember when yellow lights were in in Japan.

I actually bought some HIDs for my car and bought some crappy pseudo xenons as the fogs since my original fogs were yellowish and didn't match the HIDs. As expected, the pseudo xenons melted about 2 weeks into it so I figure I'll just buy a set of real yellow fogs to replace them.
