Are women generally attracted to motorcycle riders?

There is something to riding a cycle, yes. Even my little old Honda CB450SC (just a basic standard) has generated interest. I think that the women just want rides because of the vibration.

EDIT: Yes, I could easily do without the squids. Then again, since most squids ride in sandals, shorts and a T-shirt (without helmets), nature will take care of them eventually.

Some women like the biker mystique, some like the bike vibrations, some hate bikers and everything they stand for. Hell, if you're going to get a girl because she likes what you ride, just remember that she's dating your vehicle, not you and that she'll hop on any bike/biker that rides by. Besides, if you want to get truckloads of girls, pass up the new Harley and get a horse instead. A guy with a horse can get more women than a dozen bikers.

Actually, I rather like that smell. Of course, only in well ventilated areas and it's not like I want to stick my face right in the tailpipe, but I do like the smell. Of course, I also like the smell of 90 weight hypoid gear oil, so I'm not exactly normal. If you've never smelled hypoid gear oil, it smells exactly like something that comes from dead marine animals should smell.

911paramedic, if you always wearing proper motorcycle gear and know the right way to lay a bike down you're really quite safe on a bike. Just have to always pay attention. There will always be the random accidents that cannot be foreseen, but the risk of a motorcycle is by and large overblown. Of course with all the young bikers running around in shorts and T-shirts without helmets the injury rate is only going to go up. :|

There will always be the random accidents that cannot be foreseen, but the risk of a motorcycle is by and large overblown. You are kidding right?? Do you have any idea how many fatals I have been to? Not to mention the accidents where you need a spatula and a sponge to put the person on a backboard. There is not enough gear in the world to help you when a car hits you. It is the driver of the car you have to watch out for.

I owned a couple of cafe type bikes in the 80's, I loved them. I would stand it up, go over 100 on it, whatever, it was a blast. I was lucky not to ever get into an accident with it. I just changed from what I saw later, working on an ambulance.

Oh, ummm... where was I?

Now I have this insecure feeling and I don't know what to think because now I don't know if I was really attractive to women when I was on the "prowl" or if I was just lucky because I rode a motorcycle and what about that wild time with Stacie in the parking lot of the movie theatre was it just the bike or was it me again and now I am typing in one long run on sentence and I can't stop ARGGGHHH!!!!!!

Not kidding at all. I agree that it's the other driver that you have to look out for, but I covered that (in a cursory manner) when I said that one must pay attention. If I had to guess how many fatal motorcycle accidents you have seen as a paramedic I would guess between 50 and 100. I've been riding for only three years now, and I have been extremely lucky in that I have yet to come remotely close to an accident. A friend of mine has been riding for longer than I have been alive and puts about 8,000 miles on his main Harley each year. Hi biggest accident? A long time ago he was riding a Ducatti home at night when the bike literally fell into a hole in the country road on which he was riding. He pulled the bike out after he came to a stop and nursed the bike home.

Of course there is a risk involved in riding a motorcycle, but ridden responsibly (and taking a bike to 100+ mph or standing up on the bike is far from responsible) a bike is not as much of a risk as most people assume. Always ride as though every other driver is intent on killing you, then you'll ride safely.

If you actually ride smart enough... i think you have a bigger chance of being hit by the people around you rather than you getting into an accident all by yourself.
