are wireless keyboards inherently laggy/delayed?

I currently have the logitech ex110 keyboard + mouse set that i bought for only $30. I noticed that while i am typing in word, there is definitely a delay that is no present when i use a wired keyboard. My question then is that should there indeed be a delay as this is the case for all wireless keyboards or is it just my particular model since it's cheap? Do you guys notice a delay in the more expensive models?

It's definately your model. I've got the logitech cordless comfort duo and there is no lag between the keyboard and and pc. I've had ms wireless kb's and there definately was lag in the signal but not with my current setup.

I've owned two wireless mice, cant remember the first but it lagged. I decided to get the best Logitech available to maybe fix the problem and it lagged. Never again will I get wireless keyboards/mice. Replacing the batteries sucks ass too.

think it depends on how far you are from the receiver. overall i think wireless kb/mouse is crappy but i can't live without it now.

Every wireless keyboard and or mouse I've ever used lagged. Some models seem to be far worse than others, though.

I've owned wireless mice and keyboards, but have always found the keyboards to be a little laggy.

Edit:
That's with the receiver around 3ft. from me and on both USB and PS/2 connections.

i recently bought the mx5000 bluetooth mouse and keyboard. the keyboard works perfectly but the mouse will occasionally lag horribly, especially in games. i was thinking it was the reciever, but i bought a justcom bluetooth reciever and it did the same thing. it works fine if its about three inches away though :p

I've done a ton of gaming with a wireless G7 mouse, it's been perfect. As well as an older Logitech wireless keyboard. However... I started running into issues with stutters or 'lag' when I set up a wifi network in my home. If the wifi is busy, either streaming to the Wii or other, the mouse freaks out and exhibits 'laggy' spikes or skipping performance.

So for those having issues it may be due to other wireless devices on a close by freq. stepping on the mouse or keyboard input. I've since moved to wired devices due to this. Receiver distance didn't matter either, I even lowered the power output of the router... nothing worked other than to stop the wifi streaming or downloading.
