Are Windows 98 and Windows 98SE Keys interchangeable?

It's worked on all the oem versions I've tried

I don't know if it's legal but if you want to can buy and upgrade disk for an operating system that no longer has support

If you've got a 98 license it definetly doesnt cover 98se. On the other hand if you have a 98se license you might be covered for 98 by a downgraded license (I'm not certain this was done for 98, but is done for many other MS products).

Of course you could just spend the ~$100 and buy the XP Home upgrade (It really is worth it to not have to use 98)

In a lot of ways 98 is better..less intrusive and lower resource demands...of course loading drivers is a pain... ...not to mention cheaper
