If we go to anything, it will probably just be a slaughtering like we did in Iraq.

Bomb all the wrong things and then put sanctions on the country so 500,000+ 5 year olds die. Yeap, we did a good job there didn't we?

Hopefully we can use a bit of diplomacy before military action, though lots of the Senate are jumping the gun. Read this article:
HERE

I have been keeping an eye on you, and you have done nothing but post flame bait here. I hope you enjoy your time away from here because it will be a very long time before you come back.

STFU already...

The vast majority of civilans killed in Desert Storm and every strike since have been because of the use of human sheilds in and around military targets. The US dominated Iraq in Desert Storm, we could have easily taken Baghdad, and occupied the country, Colin Powell talked Bush out of it then, lets just hope he doesn't talk Bush out of it this time...

We didnt kill 500,000 people, Iraq did. We HAVE supplied them food and medical aid, as have OTHER countries, they dont reach the intended target.

I saw forget the women and children.... just go for it... just flatten the entire damn place... I know I sound like a terrorist... but we have made the mistake of half hearted efforts before... can't afford to do that anymore.

HAHAHAHAHA, get off the pipe! You can't reason with animals. Simple: They want us ALL dead! I for one will NOT feel pity for someone who wants me dead!

I thought the US was restrained by the rest of the coalition? IE, France, Saudi Arabia, etc.

The mission was to liberate Kuwait. Mission accomplished. (although I think we should have taken Hussein out and overseen a new government and given the Iraqi citizens aid.)

Are they foreign? Because it's hard to take an article seriously when there are a lot of misspelled words.

Damnit, we don't know who is responsible for those attacks. Who knows, it might even be Americans.

Hercules,

If you do not like the USA, then get the hell out of here. I am sure there are many countries you could go to where you anti American sentiment can be appreciated. But it is not welcome here. Now STFU and leave.

Colin Powell was one of the factors as well. He strongly opposed any action to occupy Iraq.

Not American terrorist style, they want to get away, not die.

They DO know it was Islamic Fundamentalists. They already know that. They know several people on the hijacked planes were responsible for several terrorist attacks in the middle east, and have ties to Osama Bin Laden. Elleden its really not to hard to put together. Now its which country(ies) helped the Osama and his many followers.

Depends on what you consider war. If by us destroying the people/contries responsible you mean war then I would say yes.

Plus one of the odd quotes I heard on the news today was along the lines of "When we find the people responsible, Americans will have to be prepared to see images of dead women and children on the nightly news."

Having a strong stance against our new enemies will have a very positive effect on many politicians.

i have no idea why the mod took offense to hercules' post up there. didnt seem like flame bait to me, there are many accounts of the suffering going on in iraq, both iraq's and the u.s. fault.

he had a decent link, too.

i searched for his previous posts and there wasnt anything in there bad at all, at least compared to all "nuke this" and "flatten everything" stuff i have heard in other posts.

seems like a mod with a censorship stamp going to work. it's sad :frown:

If I had a censorship stamp, I would have deleted the link to the article. He has been posting inflamatory remarks for quite a while, most of the anti American, which we do not need right now.

Bah!

Nuke the bastards and get it over with. They want to mess with the U.S.? Let's show them how powerful we really are! Now is not the time for diplomatic action. We can be diplomatic once we wipe out the a'holes who did this.

I don't think it was this post in particular, but his behavior over the last few days.

When a country like ours shows such restraint for protecting foreign innocent lives we run a great risk of killing ours. This was the US's problem from the Vietnam War. We had plenty of capability of taking out the bad guys, however, being unable to distinguish the difference between the bad and the innocent, killed many innocent Americans as well lost us the war. Each country has the responsibility to stand up and protect its OWN innocent civilians as well as cooperate with officials to give up war criminals if they wish their nation to survive. Its their choice and on their shoulders. We should show no mercy when it comes to destroying the terrorists behind the attacks as well as do whatever necessary to attain this, if innocent victims happen to get involved, the blame falls on the very nation that harbored them for not cooperating with criminal authorities or aiding the cause of this trajedy that has occured in this country. These animals dont respond to anything but physical force, the more we've overlooked their attrocities, the stronger they feel they are. We must send a message, and a very strong one, that America wont put up with any kind of terrorism whether it be domestic or international. There is a line that you can cross where there will be no mercy shown. These organized groups have crossed this line and if W has the balls, they will be violently destroyed (with a message to all terrorist groups that the US wont put up with this Sh1t)
