Damn.. I have some family over for a weekend and I miss all the personal attacks on me. :) Sorry guys. My comment may have been a slam at Obama but I do mean it in a serious way as well. We were told Obama would talk to all of these people in a way Bush never did and all would be happy in the world. Well, that was certainly IMPLIED, I'm sure Obama never actually said it.. he's too slick for that.

But here we are with Obama engaging in the same 'cowboy' diplomacy as Bush. WTF has he done? NOTHING DIFFERENT THAN THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION. Now Fox has a link about them moving a missile to the coast capable of hitting Alaska. What is Obama going to do if they launch that? I already heard someone on TV trying to blame this situation on John Bolton.. When is this Administration going to start taking responsibility for ANYTHING?

At least shoot down the missile if it starts heading anywhere in our general direction. Unless his budget cuts have gotten rid of that program? We can't get rid of funding for pissing in a jar and calling it art, but the military we can find all sorts of stuff to cut.

I blame you. You probably (I'm quite sure of it, actually) supported and voted for Bush twice in a row and he did absolutely nothing about North Korea. Nice going. Now moving forward, try using your brain once in a while.

Obama said he would fix this kind of stuff for us through diplomacy! Why isn't he sitting down and talking with Kimmy? He's using the same wreckless cowboy style diplomacy as Bush. This is why the world hates us.

China would never enter a war against the US on the side of North Korea. Period.

I sure hope you don't have to eat those words.

If it wasn't for China there wouldn't be a North Korea.

Indeed. North Korea is provoking war but they have by far the most to lose in a war. It's so odd to think but the most likely outcome is

- Korean nations bomb the hell out of each other
- US bombs the hell out of N. Korea.

Then the supreme insanity would be what happened once China reacted.

- China Defend N.Korea
- US and China go to war.

I don't think either sane nation would want any combat action between us. Either way, I don't see what North Korea has to gain from this.

what would a US/China war even look like? I mean, the Chinese have no infrastructure to really project their forces far beyond their borders and I can't imagine any US general thinking that waging a ground war against China is a good idea.

It will be an absolute last resort. Only after Kim Jong-Il refuses to accept our president bowing to him will war be an option.

The current policy of this present administration is to hug them right up until they launch missiles at our face. And then, maybe even hold hands after they've done so.

Are you really that biased? Had Bush done something about NK, all of you D's would have been crying about another war, screaming and yelling that it isn't our job to police the world. But, here you are, saying that Bush should have done something. Damn hypocrites.

The bottom line is this is not Bush nor Obama's fault. This is Kim Jong Il's fault and we've tried to not deal with it, hoping it would go away. It seems they don't want to go away though, so we may have to get involved in a dangerous situation.

Bush followed the same policies as Clinton - appeasement.

NK is not going to start something that it can not finish; they want attention and blackmail aid.

The people of South Korea would never accept the Yoke of Oppression of the communists in the North.
Sure they would, and so would you and so would I. In the right circumstances all people can be oppressed, enslaved, and have their sense of worth and value ripped away.

Anyway, NK may do something silly but I highly doubt they will attack SK en masse. I cannot think of any nation in history that has committed suicide in such a manner as that would be. Can anybody here? Has it ever happened? Unless they clearly had China's support it would be simple suicide.

I assume that if it starts going toward Alaska, any missile would be taken out. Moreover, I wonder how accurate their missiles would be. Alaska is pretty big, afterall, and its western tips/islands not that populated!

Cuda is right. In any case, Bush and Obama don't really have a play here and never have, which is why NK has made a mockery of the US and others' attempts to coral it.

Really, Obama has made up lies about North Korea, linked Kim to 9/11 and already invaded the country?

News to me. Damn, I've got to read CNN more often, how did I miss all of this happening?

If there is going to be a war with NK, is there some reason why it wouldn't be better to go ahead and have it? Granted out military isn't in the best of shape now, but the more time NK has to develop and produce weapons the worse it's going to be. I think we need to go ahead and fight this war, Kim Jong is going to do more than sabre rattle when he has nukes to drop and one foot in the grave anyway.

Did anyone else after reading this post get a bad flash back to what was being said before the Iraqi invasion?

No, we will apologize to them. That is all we are good at nowadays.
