Are we getting an Anandtech iPhone 8 review?

So is there actually a review coming, as you alluded? Something is really not right with what is going on at AT and this is definitely not the first time that we have been told an article will be posted that has either not arrived, or has not arrived within a relevant time period for the majority of your readers. Simply put, I would not have found other sites to make my "main" tech review site had I not been forced to.

At this point who cares anymore? People are already waiting for the next one to come along.

iPhone 6S was released on September 25, 2015. AnandTech review November 2, 2015. More than a month later.

iPhone 7 was released on September 16. AnandTech review October 10, 2016. Almost a month later.

iPhone X was released on November 3, 2017. So it is still not to late for a combined review.

I kind of think at this point when the review drops i'll read the intro and skip to the conclusion.

Unless Anandtech find something that everyone else has missed for the last few months.

Epic fail on Anandtech's part to not have an iPhone 8 review 3 months after release. I don't care for a combined review with the X. I just wanted Anandtech to dive into the SoC, camera, battery life, etc of the iPhone 8 which are similar/same to the X.

Yeah, I wonder what is going on with this missing review. Maybe they will combine the 8, the X, and the GTX 960 review that we are still missing LOL.

This review will be 1000 pages. I can't wait. I bet the missing GTX 960 review is coming up next!

But seriously Ryan, we'd love to hear what happened. We love Anandtech and wish it the best.
This site is dying slowly. Did I say that already?

Meh. My wife's iPhone 8 is the worst POS for a modern smartphone. Maybe no review because its pointless?

Damn thing won't connect to many Bluetooth devices that my Note 8 has zero problems with (huge running issue with this on Apple's forums, with no solution in sight) and the damn thing is slower than her old 6 was half the time. Battery life? Again, worse than her old 6 was.

At least thus far, I'm not much impressed with the 8.

Sounds like you should take it to Apple to be serviced. Those problems don't sound right.

Trolling or defective device. Probably trolling.

She's been several times to the Apple Store and this is her second ip8. Same issues.

Gee, why am I not surprised the resident apologist doesn't believe not all is perfect with an apple product?

I'm sure everyone in this thread is just making things up.

No one has anything better to do than form a conspiracy to pick on poor poor infallible apple.

While I'm not experiencing many issues, I am definitely seeing some noticeable lag on my work issued iPhone X. Mainly when switching between home screens and loading up apps. If I paid for this phone I would be disappointed.

I do believe this is more software related than hardware, but it's still disappointing.

so since AT apparently doesn't do Apple hardware reviews anymore, has anyone found reviews even approaching the detail of AT SOC analysis? that's what got me reading this site in the first place.

Been searching here for months. Worst of all they include iPhone 8 and X benchmarks in Snapdragon 845 review. Oh AnandTech

So here we are, almost four months after Ryan said "working on it" and there's no iPhone 8/8+/X or A11 reviews.

Phone reviews I couldn't care less about. Especially for a site aimed at techies like this. At this point, if you're on an iPhone you're probably not coming off of it and if you're on an Android device, you're probably not switching over to iOS anytime soon. So whatever.

But this kind of stuff is the reason I stopped coming to AT a couple years ago. The site has fallen so far off from it's height that it's not even funny anymore. I don't know what this site even is anymore outside of a news aggregator and I can get that on Reddit pretty easily.

I would have expected an in-depth look at the A11 SoC by now. The silicon stuff is easily the best thing Apple is doing right now. I still believe it's only a matter of time before Apple ditches Intel and moves to ARM-based SoC's in its laptop line probably starting with the 12" MacBook. If Microsoft can translate x86 to ARM in real-time then Apple won't be too far behind.
