Are we ever going to have ATOT real time chat?

Is there a possibility that we'd have a chatroom ATOT accessible from AnandTech site? I'm thinking something along Volano chat or similar. I think that'll be cool.. what you think?

Let's see... there are usually at least 100+ users on. Instead of people posting in only those threads they are interested in (or in the case of some of those Lifers in every thread ) you will have a chat channel with 100+ people all talking at the same time about several subjects. Think you will be able to follow even one of them? If you divide it up in different channels with specific subjects you can only follow one at a time, and not multiple threads like now.
So instead of using it as replacement you'd have to use it next to ATOT. But especially during US daytime it's hard enough already to read/reply to all threads before they scroll off the main page, let alone to chat next to it.

It might be fun once in a while, but most of the time people will just be reading/posting on here anyway.

There is an "underground" real time chat. Like Skyclad1uhm1, stated, following a real-time chat w/ 100+ users can't be easy. The ATOT board works for me

Edit: Jerboy, do you have any thoughts on the responses, or are you just adding to the "scroll?"

Volano chat can have different sections. Each section can holds tens of rooms and each room can hold 50 people. Moderation is an option and monitors have the option to intervene the chat and remove anyone from chat if necessary.

So for example, Off topic, rm 1, rm 2 , Tech support, rm1 rm2, Car talk rm1 rm2, etc. and so forth.

What is with your constant reference to UberNeuman's "The Scroll" lately? I thought it was funny at first, but it isn't anymore. It is simply annoying, pathetic and downright mean.

Jerboy, unless you create a thread for the *ell of it, why don't you subscribe to one when you create it You idea was interesting, but not feasable IMHO. What's your take?

Now that we have gotten past the formalities, Do you really think that members here want multiple chat rooms going while they post here at ATOT? While the program you mention has some possibilities, it will take away from the AT experience brotherhood/sisterhood, understand what I mean Jerboy?
