Yes, we've had heat waves in the past. But, it seems that it just keeps getting worse. Scientist are now sounding the alarm again on gloabal warming and it seems that our leaders, and people just aren't interested. The summers seem to be getting hotter, and we are experiencing more extreme weather. I don't think anything will be done until its too late.Why worry about the environment, when I can just crank my AC and order junk on Amazon I don't really need.

Sure! With very high probability there were four consecutive days last week (or was it two weeks ago?) that were the four hottest days in the last 10000 years.

Every other warm period in history developed over hundreds of thousands or millions of years, not 100 years leaving ecosystems and species no time to adapt, so it’s not comparable anyway.

Not doomed, but the effects will largely fall on the people most unable to buy the mitigation measures necessary to adapt to the changing environment.

We could help reverse this trend, as one of the prime contributors to the problem, by building more infill in our cities and reducing automobile dependence, but can't do that because pick a reason: [can't tell me how to live, socialism, American exceptionalism, NIMBYism, lack of imagination, weekly refrigerator moves, everyone is a contractor, etc].
