I'm neither conservative nor liberal, republican nor demicrat. I happen to agree with some points of view on both "sides".

Well without trying to sound too much like a politician, I'll just say that my stance and views depend on WIIFM. :)

I'm socially liberal and fiscally conservative (which is really liberal, since I support fiscal FREEDOM)

Your poll is lacking an appropriate choice for me.

The political spectrum is not so simplistic.

Every single test I've taken puts me in the middle socially, and crazy liberal financially (in other words people/business should do whatever they want when it comes to money).

Capitalist FTW!

To all the socially liberal/fiscally "conservative" (which really means liberal) people in this thread, myself included: We sound a lot like libertarians. Too bad they've never run a viable candidate.

I adhere to that viewpoint, but I flex on a few of the social "rights" (abortion mostly) and I'm pretty much hardcore on economic rights. So I guess that and the fact that i'm a registered Republican makes me more conservative than not...but it's hardly a term I'd give myself.

You are extreme right wing by every definition I have ever heard. At least that's the impression I get.

I am a staunch liberal capitalist. Some call that libertarian, and I humor them in that regard just so I don't get confused with the P&N-type socialists who call themselves liberals.

edit: and while I am anti-partisan/anti-authoritarian, I almost always vote Democrat. In fact, up until about 10 years ago, I was a registered Democrat.

Not at all. He's just a hardcore capitalist.

Capitalism BTW was a term coined by Karl Marx. Prior to that, it was known as the Liberal Theory of Economics. Just FYI.

I'm a capitalist too (well I'm certainly not a communist) but I'm not talking about economic policy.

He dislikes foreigners simply because of their place of birth and language and the color of their skin, he pimps America like it's the holy grail, he posts against gays, denies global warming...

If that ain't extreme right nationalism I don't know what is...

Not that I have anything against you as a person spidey... but yea...

I'm a moderate conservative.

Although, a moderate conservative seems to be more of a conservative for this current age. Your right-wing extremists (what you'd consider a conservative) are more like the conservatives of ages ago. In other words, time moves on but definitions don't

This is not the kind of question that ferrets out how people really think. It's the situational questions, like most of the OPs other polls, that tend to show the real leanings of the folks here.

Post multiple questions about various issues and you'll see the true face of the forum.

Loving your country doesn't make you a nationalist. Nor does being against illegal immigration (and America is far and away the most lenient country in the world when it comes to that).

"Denies global warming"? Dude, you need to get your head on straight. You say it like a fundie accusing someone of denying Jesus Christ. Global warming is a scientific theory, not a religious dogma. Kindly don't treat it as such. Science is like a good democracy, where dissent is the very essence of what makes it work.

The party system is a major downfall in American politics. I would be embarrassed to label myself part of any party.
