We are in trouble.

I guess Bush will be building gas chambers for the American muslims.

:(

In fact, several disturbing analogies exist between George W. Bush and history's most infamous fascist, Adolph Hitler: Both men assumed power in defiance of the will of the majority; both men used "great lies" to pursue their warmongering agendas; both men preyed upon humanity's basest instincts to disseminate those "great lies"; both men were appeased by the British government, Hitler through Neville Chamberlain and Bush through Tony Blair; both men were willing to use national tragedies to justify the destruction of civil liberties, Hitler through the burning of the Reichstag and Bush through the September 11th terrorist attacks; both men were/are suspected of either participating in, or ignoring warnings about the imminence of, these tragedies in order to enhance their political stature and power; both men demonstrated no compunction about exploiting a culture of death for political self-aggrandizement, Hitler through his well-publicized genocide campaigns, and Bush who, while governor of Texas, routinely denied DNA tests to death row inmates, even though such tests could prevent wrongful executions; both men were willing to appeal to racism, Hitler through his quest for a "master race," and Bush through his condemnation of affirmative action policies, which primarily benefit racial minorities.

Pravda? Hmmm why doesn't pravda condemn Putin for slaughtering muslims in Chechnya? Probably because if they did, they would not live long enouhg to see the next sunrise.

It's nice, for a change, to see anti Bush arguments on a par with the usual pro Bush ones.

Probably. While there are some valid points of comparison, such as the Reichstag fire and 9/11 and between the two national leader's early conquests of weak countries abroad with equally flimsy justifications, the fact that what Hitler symbolizes to most people is the Holocaust and it's obvious that Bush's actions against Muslims simply aren't on the same scale in any way. More importantly, the US has a strong history of democracy that Weimar Germany did not, so I believe that once we get rid of Bush, we will roll back the beginnings of tyranny in the Patriot Act and pieces of Patriot II that were passed and restore our Constitutional freedoms.

Bush while governor of Texas, routinely denied DNA tests to death row inmates, even though such tests could prevent wrongful executions;

Whoever wrote this knows jack sh!t about the legal system in Texas. Or for that matter the US Supreme Court receives every death penalty case, even if they rarely accept any.

The Gov of Texas has little power in the death penalty. He can not commute a sentance, or order DNA testing. Only the Court of Criminal Appeals can do that. He can order a 30 day stay while futher appeals or testing is done. The power to grant pardons and clemency lies in the Board of Pardons and Paroles. Furthermore it is quite false that he denied stays that would allow for post conviction DNA testing. In 2000 allowed a 30 day stay for a death row inmate, who was awaiting post conviction DNA testing.

The Texas Legislature is the one that could have passed post conviction DNA testing. Did GWB veto said legislation? Nope. It was signed into law after he became President. Rick Perry signed the bill into law during the 2001 session, after the bill was given emergancy status. I also might add, not many states have allowed post conviction DNA testing until very recently, more than a handful still do not currently allow post conviction DNA testing.

Everyone rags on the Texas justice system but it ranks 5th in state/federal resversal % of death penalty cases, only 4 death penalty states have lower reversal rates. And poor people suffer in every states' justice systems. Texas' justice system isnt as bad as people are lead to believe. It has problems, for sure, but no worse than any other large state.

Bush through his condemnation of affirmative action policies, which primarily benefit racial minorities.

Affirmitive Action was declared unconstitutional by California and Texas Supreme Courts long ago. Last summer the US Supreme Court gave mixed opinions on affirmitive action. Right now some forms of affirmitive action ARE unconstitutional, while others aren't. The Supreme Court will eventually have to clarify the issue. Much like they will have to clarify the IQ level that makes one retarded as they failed to supply any standard in their opinion that ruled the execution of mentally incompetent people unconstitutional. They will likely be clarifying the issue of executing people that were 16 or 17 when they committed a crime but had since turned 18+. Both of these cases will likely be before the US Supreme Court next year. Affirmitive Action probably wont be clarified for several more years.

Yep, the stay was for Ricky McGinn. By the way, there have been 81 executions in Texas since Bush left the Governor's office for the Whitehouse. 5 more executions are scheduled between now and July 7.

But hey, the propagandists will spin it any way they can.

Ok, I'm someone who dislikes Bush and his handling of the Iraq war, but using pravda as a source? Ugh...this needs to stop. Please, for the love of all that's fluffy, stop using sites like this to attack Bush, it makes you look like an idiot.

Two Words: NO WAY.

Until we start fighting all of our neighbors, including Canada, and attempt to exterminate an entire race, there is no comparison.

There is, however, much comparision between the "terrorist" rhetoric used by both GWB and Hitler.

Just out of curiousity, why do you capitalize random letters?
