We've used them at work exclusively for at least five years now in our digital cameras. I've never heard of a problem with them.

see review at dpreview.com, speed is good and quality--well--it works. Don't know what else to tell 'ya?

Anyway, I've got 2 256MB cards and they haven't given me any problems.

Crucial can't be used in Frontier Lab's NexIIe mp3 players. If anyone wants to trade.. ;) I've got a Crucial right here.

I have a 128MB Viking and a 512MB Simpletech. Other than the size I've never noticed a difference. IIRC Viking has a 5 year warranty, Simpltech has a lifetime.

Many companies use the same outsource. They simply placed their stickers on top of it. As long as it works and it's cheap, it's good.

Well I heard Sandisk was the slowest? Or is it just with a certain type of memory...

My gf just got back from Europe and took ~800 pics on her 256 Viking CF with her Canon G3. She dumped the CF to cd one time, and filled it up again. However, some of her pics are screwed up. I'm not sure if it's the CF card or the camera, but we aren't able to pull 15-20 of her pics (all in a row on her CF card). With these problem pics, we get an error along the lines of "file is corrupted." It's somewhere in the middle of the CF card. Anyone ever experienced this? Do you think it's a CF card problem or a problem with the G3?

They all end up with filesystems, ie FATxx. So, file table could have become corrupt for some reason. Try reformatting it.

If you have an external reader/writer you can run a scandisk on it and see if it detects any problems. I've taken easilly that many pictures on my cards and never had any corrupt files. But, I use an external reader/writer for transferring the data from the card to my pc. I always 'eject' the card from windows before removing the media (light is off on reader) when I'm done.

Thanks for the suggestion. She doesn't have an external reader though, just hooks the camera straight into her Mac. Is there any way to salvage those files? There are thumnails of them, but when you try to pull them it throws a corrupt file error.

I wonder if this would work?

I'm thinking it's probably just the card as well... at least I hope it is, cause I've got a G3 on its way to me as now and it'd be a shame for this camera to have that problem, though with all the reviews I've read of it, no one's mentioned it.
