There are now new 6900XTs selling for below reference card MSRP:

Even though it says "coming soon", the bundle can be added to your cart right now. Might be a bug in the store though.

I think now is the time to offload mining cards. If anyone needs GTX 1660 Super / Ti cards (marginally faster than RTX 3050 at rasterization, but no RTX or DLSS), check out my FS thread in a few minutes.

Edit: Done.

I agree. If I had mining cards, now is the time I'd sell to still get good money for them. Think of it like this, how long would you have to mine to make as much as you can get selling them right now? You might never make that money with the state of mining now, and if you wait, you might be looking at less than half the sale price very soon on the used market.

- Yep. If a 6800XT was $650 MSRP, a 6900XT really shouldn't be more than $750 tops based on actual differences in performance.

Definitely. It was just AMDs attempt at an overpriced halo card. Charging almost double the price for a few percent more performance just because some people are willing to pay more for the same product. $900 is a sad joke for this thing and at this stage, it's about twice what it should be. $450 is more reasonable as we approach the next gen and mining crash IMO.

At the peak of the insanity they were going for comparable or lower prices than 6800xt cards...great deal in the terrible-deals-everywhere space!

899 is an insanely good price for a 6900xt.
For a 6900XT, $900 isn't bad. But when i clicked on the link, it is showing $949, and that is after a $50 MIR.

I have a feeling that AMD is going to cut production soon if they haven't already. Just reallocate the wafers to Epyc.

They should have cut production of Navi 24 to zero by now.

$900 is stupid and way too expensive for that thing.

For the here-and-now, when AMD has just released a $1099 6950XT that is around %10 faster than the 6900XT? $899 is a good value, relatively speaking. Especially since the used 6900XTs on eBay often sell for more than that! If you are willing to wait another ~6 months then yes, the 6900XT may crash hard.

NewEgg may still be using a view-based algo to adjust prices in realtime. It was $899 when I found it, but obviously that did not last.

Ouch $450 being the new lower midrange price is perverse.

Yeah. Some are predicting an RTX 4070 price of $700, so a big price hike over last gen. If you are a traditional x80Ti/high-end buyer like me, then the price has doubled for a replacement card since 780Ti, 980Ti, and 1080Ti. I'm just not following these price hikes with my wallet. Nvidia's been playing tug of war with their customers trying to constantly pull them into a higher price bracket for the same class of product. It's well past time to just let go of the rope.

Yeah I used to be comfortable buying at 70 series prices, but with Turing had to go with a 50 series equivalent in the 1660 Super to get a half decent price. And now I'm just done with PC gaming until it can start being competitive with console on price to performance, so doubt I'll build another gaming PC until the tail end of the console gen, if at all.

This is EXACTLY why we all should support intel getting into the arena.
I don’t understand why people crap on intel for trying (again) to get into discreet cards.
We desperately need a third competitor.

Given they have done hopeful gamers a bamboozle before. I think the onus is on Intel to not only make good, but prove they are committed long term.

-Nothing wrong with a 3rd player in the GPU market nor with it being Intel (realistically not many other companies have the presence and wallet required to enter such a mature market).

People are crapping on Intel because they have a track record of abandoning any new market that they do not immediately do well in and the Alchemist launch is going down in flames pretty god damn hard right now.

Okay so we stay with the Duopoly that we have now.
As I said we should all be cheering for intel, even if their first few batches of cards aren’t great. Simply put more cards on the market lowers prices and in this example gives intel time to mature its products.

"Cheering" for Intel is like cheering for the sun rising every day. Ain't worth a fart in a hurricane.

I cartainly hope we get a shakeup to this market, but I can't deny what the facts are telling me, and they're telling me the alchemist launch is a complete bumble****.
