5060 Ti 16 GB is now more expensive than the 5070.
Single data point to counter, but the cheapest 5060 Ti 16GB at my local Micro Center is currently $430 and the cheapest 5070 is $550. It does make me scratch me head at the most expensive 5060 Ti being at $530 though...like, who's buying that?

There seem to be other examples of close pricing that makes no sense going up the stack until you hit the 5090, which is IMO ridiculously priced now starting at $3600!

Why? A bad personal experience?
Yup. I ordered some Switch Joycons about 8 years ago. Item never arrived and they expected me to file a claim with UPS. I did a charge back on my credit card, after trying to resolve it to my satisfaction for about 2 weeks for that order, and they subsequently deleted my entire account, along with 10's of thousands in purchases on said account starting in 1998. They've been dead to me ever since. Even if I see something I want on Slickdeals.net etc., I ignore it if it's from Newegg.com, and I'm glad to relate my story wherever I see a good opportunity to. Phone support while trying to resolve the issue I mentioned previously was rude as fudge too. They're on the top of my list of companies I'd like to see go bankrupt and erased from the WWW forever.

Hard no to that. They have the cleanest UI for finding what I want so I can order it on Amazon. Big 🧠 moves 😆 After the cash back, and much faster shipping, Amazon is an easy pick for me.

I think the only orders I've made with da egg in years, are Intel ARC cards. They have been the best source for variety and pricing.

I have had exemplary interactions with Newegg over the decades. About the time you were getting butt punched, they exceeded their own policy to assist me. Returned my pre-order 5700XT. I asked if instead of an exchange, their policy at the time, I could get store credit to buy a 2060 super from them. She asked me to hold a moment, came back with approval. Also gave me the free return shipping label. Zero hassles, super stoked at how it turned out.

My anecdote aside; I do still see, quite often, shoppers having terrible service from them on Reddit subs. There is the whole GN fiasco too. Newegg has sucked since the original owners sold out.

I'll agree with you on one point. Original owner Newegg.com was amazing. The issue I had was after the new Newegg.com owners took over. FYI, Micro Center's UI is pretty good, and if you have a local one, it should be your go to place of business. I laugh every year at the new Newegg.com owner's stupidity and short-sightedness, as I still spend a lot on computers for myself, friends, and family. Really, Micro Center and Amazon ought to send them a thank you card for the nearly 100% transfer of business.

Their search is unrivaled it seems. But 95% of the time I end up buying on Amazon. I have had good luck with Newegg but they rarely have any deals to make me actually buy there.

How about Googlegear/Zipzoomfly? Anyone remember them? They were awesome until they got in trouble.

Miami MC is 4hrs+ each way. And traffic once you get near Ft. Lauderdale is beyond terrible. I am waiting for Orlando to get an MC. Then I will be among the chosen.

I buy everything but ARC cards on Amazon. Cash back, and sometimes, same day delivery FTW.

I shopped ZZF for parts. Mwave was my go to in the 90s. They are still in biz down under. The crew here turned me on to Newegg in 2001, and that became my main parts source for years.

Directron
Tiger Direct
Geeks.com

If there was a hot deal, I shopped there.

I've been seeing a lot of articles like this one stating that AI investments aren't paying off and while I understand that this is mostly for your everyday corporation trying to find a way to implement AI to reduce the overhead cost (ie. replacing their customer service department with AI chatbots), I'm wondering if companies like Nvidia are seeing the same flatlined returns despite their massive investments. I'm probably getting my hopes up for no reason, but if these PC hardware giants aren't seeing sizable returns on their investments, I'm wondering if they'll start backing off sooner rather than later and trying to get back into the consumer's good graces.
Nvidia is selling the shovels in the gold rush, they should be doing amazing.

Didn't look at Newegg because they don't exist to me. I hate them with an unending passion.
I'll still never skip the chance to bitch about them stealing $30 from me. Fuck newegg. Hope that $30 was worth it to them to lose the couple of thousand dollars of business they would have have gotten from me that went to Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, etc instead after they screwed me over.

LOL I do the same, as amazon is horrendous to browse since they converted from a legit store to a pos middleman to pay tribute to for third party listings. Last time I used their search I looked up the PS5 Astrobot game and the first page of results was almost all dropshipped crap like figurines and T-shirts.

Speaking of Newegg; they are having their 25th anniversary sale. Door busters will probably be sold out immediately. They have the XFX Quicksilver 9070XT for $600 and Eagle 5060 for $250. https://www.newegg.com/doorbuster

Sparkle B570 is $200 with a free game and in game stuff for Marvel Rivals. I don't know if you can get any game other than Battlefield 6?

I got hit for return shipping on a case that was about $30 back in maybe 2017/18 with NE. At the time it wasn't worth the hassle but it made me regret not contacting the case manufacturer and seeing if they would ship me a replacement part (fan hub controller built in) then sell the case myself. After that incident I spent less and less with them, mostly only gpu's and ironically a case or two that no one else had.

As long as they’re selling the proverbial shovel, I doubt they care if there’s actually a lot less gold in the ground than they claim there is, but they ain’t going to publicly say that of course. I mean, Jensen came out saying that AI doomerism is “hurting society and doing a lot of damage”… to his wallet, no doubt.

I had $30 left on a non-expiring giftcard I got for Christmas one year, used it on a game, then wondered what the hell was taking so long so emailed newegg a couple of weeks later and they said oops, it got damaged before being shipped, here is a $30 giftcard that expires in 90 days. I complained for weeks WTF why are you giving me a giftcard expiring in 90 days back as opposed to just putting the $30 back on my non-expiring giftcard? There is no game coming out in the next 90 days I want to spend it on, give me back a non-expiring giftcard. They wouldn't and finally just sent a check for the balance and the fucking thing bounced. Fuck newegg.

Wow, did they do that in person? <kidding, I didn't see that you already elaborated later>

In Gamers Nexus latest video (around 1:20), he mentions Newegg leadership was detained by anti corruption police in China.

-TBF getting detained by the Fuzz in China doesn't really seem indicative of anything.
I predict this post will age like warm milk on a Florida summer day.

Ask a chatbot how long Newegg has been losing money. The numbers point to @Golgatha getting his wish. Desperation is a hell of a drug.

The online sites are even worse now. MC and Best Buy open box deals are the best bet now, you can return if it's defective. I got an open box Astral for $2100 a few months ago versus $4500 on all the online sites now.

At this point it's better to get a prebuilt or gaming laptop, or do cloud gaming. These prices are going to kill this hobby over time.
