do you carry around a lot of files /transfer around files a lot?? if so yes.

might be good for backup also

Overall yes...and they ain't expensive...go get yourself one.

But specifically to some people they aren't and to those with lot's of un-networked machines or something that have USB and you need to move drivers about, they are a lifesaver.

well originally I bought one so I could carry around my various resumes and references with me but then I realized what an incredibly stupid idea that would be being tied to all my keys. . .

Dude, you should wear it on a necklace like PE teachers do with a whistle... you'll be 31337. 😀

I just got the new MuVo NX and it has been more useful than I could ever have hoped!

MP3
Storage
Voice recording
Small
Cool! 😀

very handy indeed. may be more useful to some than others... but its certainly not going to get in your way or be a PITA in any way.

Not really.

I prefer to have a floppy drive on a chain hanging around my neck.

A friend was over yesterday and asked me if I had a spare floppy so he could give me a txt file. I don't have any lying around, blank or full. I hate floppies! Ever since the zip came out and then the ls120 I thought they should have been replaced. Even the sony MD could have been adapted to take the place of a floppy.

I say anything that gets rid of the floppy is a good thing. Today with files almost always being more than 1mb you need something more than a floppy. The USB key thing needs to come down in price so they can be swapped with out a thought of the price.

I don?t think I would wear it around my neck maybe on a belt clip or a quick release on my keychain.

They sure help when you have a dell inspiron 800 and install windows 2k and it doesn't support the network. The drivers are about 14 megs if you don't clean them up.

Its also a lot safer to move files around compared to floppy or cd.

I have mine in the little pocket behind the right front pocket in my jeans. there is no way i would wear it around my neck or anything like that.
