Are USB 2.0 drivers interchangeable?

Can I use VIA's USB 2.0 drivers in place of NEC's?

Is this an add in PCI card, or is this built in to a motherboard? If it's an add in PCI card thats made by NEC but uses a VIA chip then yeah, via drivers would work. If it doesn't have a via chip, then no they won't work, that would be like putting diseal fuel in a gasoline engine..

It's actually for a Toshiba A35-s159 laptop.

You don't need ANY USB 2.0 drivers if you're using WinXP with Service Pack 2.

It is running WinXP SP2. For some reason, the drivers suddenly had a yellow exclamation next to it, and Windows Update won't fix it.

Got it. I just grabbed them off the WinXP disk.
