Are undercar neons legal?

Thinking of buying 2 tubes from ebay for my car, but don't want to get pulled over all the time. Anyone know if they're okay to have?

Well, I used to have neons "inside" my old truck, and I was told they were legal as long as the bulbs weren't visible. It's all about the obstruction of view. So I thought having the bulbs underneath the car would be no big deal.

Just need someone to shed some light on the subject.

The law in my state (Maine) as far as I know is that they are legal so long as the neon tube itself is not visible.

Just turn them off when you see fuzz. I do beleive they are illegal most places if not all, for reasons I don't know. Chances are you won't get pulled over very often, and prolly not get a ticket when you do.

Those are so late '90s. I haven't see one around here for a while, use to laugh when I saw them driving up the highway. The owners probably found out that neon on the underbody doesn't last in the snow.

Depends on your state, but most likely they are illegal...

Why would they most likely be illegal?

The reason they are illegal where I live is because it 'distracts' other drivers...

If they are blue, they are illegal because only emergency vehicles are supposed to have blue lights...

But as I said, it all depends on your state...
