Are they?I know they have FM-tuners as well(not all of them).
Anybody knows where I can find reviews of TV-Tuners?(Not Video Cards-TV-Tuners)
If anybody of you has one of these please let me know...
Thanks in advance!

In general no they're not better. Personally I'd love to have a video card with the tuner built in (basically I want a Radeon All-in-Wonder :)). I can't stand the Bt8x8 (848 or 878) chipsets that almost all seperate tuners are built with.

Why aren't they?Please explain...
I'm planning to buy the Pinnacle Systems Studio PCTV Pro TV-tuner (+FM).It can capture video and audio and the software bundle is great (that's what they told me...).
Its features and options:
.Fully featured TV
.PCTV WebText combines Internet andTeletext
.Video Mail with Pinnacle Studio
.Create MPEG1 Video CDs
.Create Streaming Video
.Digital Video Recorder
.Video Scanner (TWAIN support)
.Video Phone ready
.Remote Control included

And also I'm planning to upgrade to GF3.
I'm thinking this way:In the future if I decide to upgrade the video card, then I won't have to upgrade the tv-fm-tuner as well.
So what do you think?I'm new to tv-tuners and I want the best I can get for about $100,so please help!

Depends entirely on what chipset the tuner is made with.

It makes no difference whatsoever whether the tuner is a standalone PCI card or integrated into your primary video adapter.

If you put a good TV-tuner chipset onto a video card or a standalone PCI card you get a good TV-tuner. If you put a poor TV-tuner chipset onto a video card or a standalone PCI card you get a poor TV-tuner.

I would have to agree with MGMorden that the Brooktree 8x8 chipsets aren't extremely good. I'm extremely looking forward to september when I get my real TV back.

But again, that's a function of the chispet used, not whether it's a standalone card or not.
