Are TV Tuner Cards Compatible With Dish Network?

I just moved and got DishNetwork for the house though when I moved I yanked the coaxial cable off of my computer (we used to have regular cable) and the actual end came off, but it came off cleanly so I'd thought I just insert it back in.

So then I come to plug in the DishNetwork coax in the new house and I find that I get no signal. I'm switched to the right channel and all but nothing. So before I get a new TV tuner card, is it the satellite or is it the card?

Yes, the coax is from the receiver. You're supposed to flip it to channel 60 and voila! instant satellite TV 😀. Except I get static 🙁. So I guess it could be the cable, but then again that's a fixable because I can get Dish to come out and repair that.

Does it work on a normal television? The dish may not be aligned properly, or something could be blocking the signal.

There's one receiver for two TVs. One TV is already hooked up and working fine. So I'm guessing there's no real reason why it wouldn't work with a TV tuner card unless mine is broken... grr, maybe I'll just go buy a card.
