Are those gas credit cards worth it?

Thinking of getting a Shell/Citi Mastercard that offers 7% for gas rebate and 1% rebate for everything else that will be applied for future gas at Shell. APR is pretty high, but we always pay the full amount every month. Worth getting one?

getting something for free vs not getting that... what do you think?.

but there are other companies that offer gas rebates too. ie: freedom, or whatever the new name is from chase, works w/ every gas station, not just shell. and i also saw a aaa gas card that gave 5% back..

is the 7% promotional, or good for hte life of hte card?

Yes, if you use it for only gas and you never carry a balance, you can't go wrong.
I believe there is a way to piggy back certain cards with a AAA discount if you are a member.

I think the gas cards are conveniant. I have a Chevron one and they are just nice to have when you just happen to be low on cash or haven't gotten paid yet. . .plus you can use it at their mini marts too. They are also fairly good credit builders, as long as you pay it off every month. I charge around $30 a month on mine and pay it off. Keeps me aware of how much I'm paying per month for gas. In other words, VERY HANDY! 😀
