Are things getting better all the time?

Was that the trend 1900-1950?

Was that the trend 1950-2000?

Is that the trend now?

I know this is a stupidly open ended question, but I am as much interested in you perception of the answer as in any sort of totally objective and final answer.

Please try to take a minute to think about history and wars and achievements before you answer.

Things did get better until it was announced that the U.S. is facing a half TRILLION dollar deficit for 2004. So, you can pretty much gurantee that we are heading back to the stone age.

everything is better, everything is easier to do now, and in my opinion if you can accomplish the same goal the easy way it's better. take sending a photo and sending it to relatives for example:

1900: long process to get it taken, then developed, then super-slow snail mail to wherever its going

2004: take picture on phone, send to email of same person, instantly done


everything is becoming more instant, everyone almost has a car whos over 16..... and you can fly around the world and take a vacation on an average income, how could the world not be better?

Whose average income? Afghanistan? Uh, I don't think you will be taking a trip around the world on $500 a year.

the world has never been so connected before. i think this trend is good for stability.

scientific and technological progress is leaping. we are paying more and more attention to things like social, environmental problems. i'd say things are going pretty well.

I can't understand people who believe they are intelligent who get caught up in politics and whether or not a budget was balanced and other nonsense... do you think your devotion to a political party will be remembered 100 or even a thousand years from now?

I just hope I see my gf and my family on the other side.

where did you read that? i had a long day yesterday and didnt read any news at all....not that im surprised of course
