Are things better because a Mom invented them?

I just saw an ad on the interwebs about some teeth whitening thing "discovered by a Mom". Why do I care if a woman who got laid without protection came up with the product? There have been billions of moms in the history of the planet, it's really not a high accolade to become one.

Do these girls look like inventive geniuses of our time?

I see an awwwwwwwwwful lot of sh*t created and marketed as being created or designed or inspired by a Mom.

Screw me in a Yugo, there is even a site dedicated to this! mominventors.com

It may not be a high accolade, but we still keep mom's in high regard, don't we?

A mom inventing certain things might make them more appealing. A nag device, for example.

I blame the Internet. Used to be that moms only had contact with a limited number of other moms. Now they get on message boards and talk to other moms all over the country, and they've collectively agreed that they really need to play up the whole "being a mom" thing for all it's worth.

All I know is my mom wasn't like that.

I don't know why...but the net acronym "DH" grates me like no other.

And yes, the internet has given a voice to these women and it's a shame actually. My wife has the initials "Dr." in front of her name, peer reviews clinical journals for fun, and is a walking tome of drug and treatment information.

There's a local news anchor that has a "NewsAnchorMom" blog that she pimps on her news show. It's usually absolutely retarded medical advice with basis on reality or clinical backing. And the 'net moms eat that crap up.

If she could backhand the next bogmom blabbering on about MRSA...she would.

Its because of the "She undersands me, since she's a mom" thing. Women don't want problems solved, they just want some one who understands their problems/listens to them whine. Or at least some one who pretends to do so.

 Yeah, I think I had to ask what that one means because I couldn't figure it out. I could tell that H = husband, but didn't know why husbands and sons and daughters always had Ds before them.

So many of them use names like "JohnnysMommy" or "MomOf3Kids" or "2girls1cu^H^Hboy", and their avatars are pictures of their kids. That's their identity online. Your kids are not who you are. There's nothing wrong with being proud of your kids, but they also don't need to be the sole focus of your life.

Pfft. Nice lollipops, GIRLS.

Honestly? They look like unwed, pregnant teens from a San Antonio, TX public high school. Hey, I don't make this shit up; I just call'em like I see'em.

Being poor, no high school diploma and knocked-up is the mother of all think-of-shit-quick inventiveness. I'm not impressed. Thinking to have your BF pull out is at least an "honorable mentionable" on the "are you impressed?" list.

I hate the initials DH also, along with DS, DD, DGD, DGS, etc etc. I call him the hubs, husband, etc. It doesn't kill me to type a few more letters, and really, I don't care if D stands for dear or damn, I'll type it out to fit the occasion.
