A 7600GT video card is probably considered a low end card (for pci-e not agp) nowadays for gaming purposes. I would say a 7600GT is still a very nice card though. A 7600GS is not an option IMHO (very low end.) The resolution you have chosen to base this feedback on makes a 7600GT or higher video card a viable option.
Realistically any dual core CPU is top of the line and the e4300 is no slouch when it comes to price and performance options via overclocking.
1G of RAM has worked great for gaming and desktop applications in Windows XP. Having more will always help your overall system performance. Going from 1G of RAM to 2G of ram is quite a noticeable jump in performance. RAM requirements have just changed with Vista. If you own a desktop or laptop with 1G of memory Vista will tend to disk swap quite often, which indicates lack of memory. Adding more helps.

hmmm...but knowing that the DX10 cards are coming...the 7600GT wouldnt be such a good card to get now ? But if the E4300 and E6300 are not overclock...would it be still good ?
Yeah...since i dont really game nowadays...1G is plenty for web surfing...mp3...BT...on XP Pro
and the best time to get a new rig is to wait for the E6300 with 4mb L2 and mid-range DX10 ?
