Are they really your parents?

Do you believe your parents when they tell you they brought you to term, or do you suspect a DNA test is in order?

If you think your parents really aren't your actual parents, who do you imagine your actual parents might be?

Me? Betty Davis and some unsuspecting sperm donor. I think she ate him afterwards. =8^o

You mean I wasn't really dropped down the chimney by a stork? Where do babies come from then? Oh God....I'm so disillusioned!

Mother used to tell us we were pooped out on a stump by an old crow. She couldn't have been all that old at the time. ;)

I don't know my biological father. He left my mother after he got her pregnant :(
Then she got married to a wonderful man when I was like 3 years old, only to have him die about a year later. :(

When I was a kid I always hoped my real parents would reclaim me,after they made their fortunes of course, but that never happened. Oh well. True story though.

I guess I look too much like my parents anyhow, but my brother on the other hand does resemble the mailman somewhat.

I always question that in my mind. However the truth is out there. Considering my sister and brother used to tease me over something when I was young and my mom used to try to shut them up.

Oh well I am not bothered. I have lived with them for 21 years and what ever the aftermath is they are always going to be my parents.

( ok a little more about my younger life, I dont have too many photographs of me when I was very young.. all of them start around age 1.5 - 2). Whereas my brother and sister have them from childbirth.

Actually, I have such sweet parents sometimes I feel guilty. Seriously. I know of very few people who have parents as loving, nurturing, and wise as mine are. I used to wonder why the hell my family was so weird... everyone else had divorced parents, and mine were like the freaking Waltons(the Spanish version)! Very uncool to me at the time.

Both of them had some difficulty growing up but they both made an effort to be the best parents that they could possibly be. Oh, they aren't perfect but I would not trade them for anything. They are truly good people, and I am very fortunate to have been born to them.

I think my dad is trying to figure out that one. Visited me for the first time (in 3 years) at college last weekend. He was speechless after I told him all about my classes and showed him my textbooks. I'm sure on his drive home he wondered "how the f*** could that be my son?"

Yes and my mother has been reminding me about it for 30 years. She still calls and talks to my sister every day to make sure she gets home from work. But it doesn?t bother us cause she?s Mom and we are used to her. :D

Mom ocasionally told us that our father was the milk man (back in the days when milk was delivered to your door every few days -- a wooden milk box with a hinged lid that sat outside the back door that held up to 6 glass bottles with paper caps. Still remember waking up to the sounds made by the milk truck's brakes, then the lid being dropped back into place.)

Hello, are you my daddy?

:)

I'm too much like both of my parents to wonder, but I'm convinced my youngest brother is the result of an alien probing.

Toolgirl i was in a very similar situation except my biological dad got abusive when my mother was pregnant with my sister. My mom pretty much left him. Mom never remaried or anything though. but in answering the question, i'm pretty sure my mother is my real parent... no one would put up with as much as she has if she wasn't (if that makes any sense). :)

My parents , my real ones, are rich beyond beliefe, and they just wanted me to grow up in a normal family. Here in a couple weeks, they are going to find me, and break the news, at which I will act hurt and broken, then they are going to give me lots and lots of money.. and dammit... I am not delusional!!

I've never met my natural parents, I was adopted at birth.
My natural parents were just a couple of unmarried college students who made a very wise choice in a tough predicament.

It crosses my mind once in a great while about what they are like, and if they are even still alive. But oh well. My life has been good, and my family is great. I have never lacked love.
