Are they lying?

Idontcare hit it on the head; if a program reports incorrectly, these guys don't know the difference and just quote it blindly.

Also, most Americans can't be bothered to understand what "degrees Celsius" represents, since we use Farenheit for our daily lives. These guys don't know what room temperature is, or what is considered "hot" on the Celsius scale, and are too lazy to check.

So yes, score one for ignorance. A consumer on Newegg has no reason to lie.

I think a lot of those temps are reported inaccurately. Honestly, I have been trying out quite a bit of softwares to read temps and it's seems rather hard to get credible or accurate reading from most of them. Even using the few best known program might result in discrepancies. Many people don't like to dig any further and report the first result the got as long as it matches the idea of what they would like to see......

-it's not only temps , I just downloaded EVEREST ULTIMATE EDITION (trial version) to get a real time load temp. read out for the nb_sb and I noticed that my ENERMAX INFINITI 650 Fan showing @2004 rpm when the max. speed is 1200 rpm of the fan and it shows in SPEED FAN @768 rpm ,as it should be
- so this is a $35.00 PROGRAM that can't be trusted. 100%

Sure he does... there are many people who like to f*ck around, just to drive other people crazy.

Then, of course, there are those who have an agenda to push.

I can get my Q6600 pretty low. I have an idle at 21C, with a Truex 120 with two fans, in an Antec 900 case with all fans on high. At full load, I hit 41C. To do this, I have to set my voltage down to 1.2, witch gets me 1.18 on load. I can run this voltage at 3.0ghz fully stable. I keep the room at about 68 degrees. The temp readings are a lot like OC settings, did you not know all Q6600's will OC to 3.9ghz.

My friend's Q6600 will do 3.61Ghz at 56C in coretemp under full load, with a high-end zalman flower cooler. That amazed me. I get 85C full load temps under coretemp 0.96 with my E2140s @ 3.2Ghz, with a HyperTX2.
