Just so you guys have an idea how UPS and FedEx air shipments work. UPS has a "hub" for their air packages in Louisville, Kentucky. I'm pretty sure FedEx has a and air hub in TN. When you buy air shipping from UPS, the package gets put on the next flight to KY. At KY, the package is put on another plane, which will fly to the nearest airport to your location that UPS operates. The air packages are dropped off, and new air packages are loaded. That plane then flies back to KY... and thus the cycle begins. UPS and FedEx both offer SameDay delivery. I believe taht those planes fly directly from drop-off to destination without stopping at the hubs in KY and TN. That's why UPS/FedEx charge like $150 for same day delivery.
Anyway, it depends on where the package is going I think. I'm not sure if the airports in KY and TN are operating. Then it's a matter if the airport closest to you is operating.
UPS has an advantage in this situation. They have a massive ground network, so atleast *some* of their packages are getting delivered. I'm not sure what FedEx's been doing. But, considering what happened, I don't think anyone will mind waiting 1-2 weeks for their packages.
