Are they ever fixing Lollipop for HTC phones?

Anyone know if this is happening? After the roll-out about 1/3 of my apps stopped working. Tried uninstalling, clearing caches, data, etc. Reinstalling...all of that. Things just don't start, or they almost start and then just boot me back to my home-screen, or they brick the phone. It's really a pain in the rear, as a few of the apps were in my most-used. I'm really sorry I got the M8 at this point because it's not very useful under current conditions.

Are you running pure stock, rooted or s-off? I switched to a Google Play Edition ROM when Lollipop first hit the M8, but actually switched back to a Sense 7 ROM now because it actually runs smoother on my device.

If you're stock, you pretty much have to wait for Android 5.1.1 to drop with Sense 7, and right now HTC's timetable is August (but carriers can probably delay that further...) In the meantime, make sure you have all the Android webview, Sense Home and HTC Lock Screen updates loaded from the Play Store.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. I'm running Sense 6.0 on 5.0.1 -- everything works -- have you tried a factory reset? If factory reset doesn't fix it, download the RUU and do a full restore -- you *may* have a corrupt OTA update

M8 had an issue with Google web services update. Isn't related to android 5. They have since updated again which has fixed all problems on mine. Make sure that's updated on yours.

lot of apps not compatible or something and you have to factory reset and not install the incompatible ones.

Why should they fix lollipop when HTC phones are pretty much the only ones affected? My M8 is garbage but its a work phone so I didnt really care.

I actually like my M8. I bought it as a stopgap and it has really grown on me. The really responsive touch screen (compare to Samsung), a LCD in the age of material design, and the last access to GP3 ROMs keeps me hooked.

Lollipop on the device was complete garbage for me, but 5.1 has been a real improvement. Enough I finally don't miss Kit Kat anymore.
