are they any ways to upgrade from win me to win pro 2000?

start up me and insert disk labeled "win2k pro". this will setup a dual boot system, with obviously me, and professional. i have had no problems with this and see no reason why you would have problems running both

good luck.

I highly recommending running Win2k Pro on a an independent HDD. That way the user can format the HDD in NTFS. NTFS allows Win2k Pro to support additional security features. Secondly, you can dualboot, but do not upgrade from WinME. You will be better off installing Win2k on a clean HDD. Trust me. You will see why after you have Win2k Pro the way you want it.

Do a clean install. The NT5 kernel (Win2000 and soon WinXP) and the Win9x kernel (Win95,98,ME) are very very different..I wouldn't try an overlay.

And converting to NTFS is always a good idea.

Unless you just want to tinker w/ it XP is Beta and not what you want. Go for 2000 now or if you want wait until XP. Either way it *SHOULD* be a step up from Me (2000 definatley will be, I'm pretty sure XP will be but MS has this way of really screwing up things so it could go sour).
