I have a really old car that I am going to give away, but I have been told by mechanics that my tires need to be changed right away because they are in really bad condition. So since the old car has better tires........I have a questions.........can these two types of tires be interchanged???

New Car: Goodyear Invicta P195/70 R14 90H, Treadwear: 220, Traction: A, Temp: A.

Old Car: Goodyear Wrangler HT, M + S 185 R14C, Load C, Tread: 340, Traction: A, Temp: B

Someone who can help out please?.......also how hard is it to take tires off of rims.........do I need any special tools in particular???

well, if the tires are teh same size. r 14 in your case i dont see a problem.

BTW, i wouldnt make replacing tires a DIY job. take it to sears or something

And besides, they need to be balanced once they are remounted. Not a DIY job.

Tires are tires for the most part.
The size being differant may throw off the speedo a bit though.
Don't even TRY changing the tires without a machine though (from one rim to another) you will NOT be a happy camper!!

Sounds to me like they should be interchangeable, but I would check with a Sears or Firestone type place first.
